Big thanks to @strikekinglurecompany for hosting this month long fishing tournament in May! It made fishing in May even more fun with the added competition. The West region consisted of 10 states and over 100 contestants and as of now I sit in 5th which would be good for $500 and $250 in gift cards! Not bad for a $10 entry.. Fingers crossed that holds through tonight 🤞.. regardless we had a blast catching some giants this month! Had a blast fishing Guntersville Wednesday with my good friend Timothy Joseph! He had never been to the Gville so I told him to come on! After going to one of my spots in the morning I caught a few little 16”-13” largemouth, we then grabbed a bite to eat at Waterfront Bay Grocery and Tackle (try the Chicken Bacon ranch sandwich!!) and headed to my favorite spot! Tim was not familiar with fishing in the grass but he finally got his first gville bass on topwater toad, then he went on to catch about 5 more! I lost count how many I caught and I finally got on a good 19.25” 5 lber to end the day off good! We caught all our fish on a wacky rig Berkley Fishing general, ribbit toad, and the custom painted poppers from Fish It Middle Tennessee!! One thing I love about kayak fishing is the people you meet!! While we was waiting for our food at waterfront I seen 2 nice Hobie kayaks pull up, we ended talking and Andrew Mihal and his wife decided to come with us for the afternoon bite!
