Barbican Centre, 1982 & 2024

The Barbican Centre is an arts centre which includes a concert hall, theatre, library and art gallery. It opened in 1982 and is part of the Barbican Estate on the edge of the City of London. The area was almost completely destroyed by bombs during World War II and was rebuilt in a brutalist style.
The textile covering on the building in the 2024 pictures is the artwork Purple Hibiscus by Ibrahim Mahama.
