Learning Tarot can seem like a lot and it is! I think it’s great to try to memorize as much as you can about each card, but it’s even more helpful to step back and learn to read the imagery and symbols we see. Start by understanding what the four suits can represent (maybe I should do a post about that 🤔) and try to learn the themes I mentioned for each number of the minor arcana. Some people view the themes slightly differently and that’s okay if that resonates more with you.
Here for example, I placed the figure from the Nine of Pentacles over the Eight of Cups to create this image. That trained falcon on the gloves hand is similar in meaning to the lantern The Hermit holds. The Hermit is also a Nine (IX) and that number is about attainment, how we achieve our goals. Both the falcon and the lantern represent our instincts and inner guiding voice that will help get you there to a place of success.
Some cards also have moons in the sky, like here in the Eight of Cups we see a moon in phases with a face, similar to that of The Moon card and also there is a crescent moon in the sky in the Two of Swords. A moon can imply cycles or the passing of time, as in its a reminder that it can take a while for something to happen or be accomplished. The moon is also related to the psychic realm, being more in tune with one’s intuition, like when we see it in The High Priestess. In the Two of Swords they’re blindfolded and blocking out their intuitive abilities, leaving them stuck.
So, try laying out your cards and see if you notice other repeating symbols in the cards and how they might be connected. Trying to simply memorize each card’s meaning is going to give you a headache plus it makes it harder for you to interpret a spread if you can’t see how cards can slightly change when being read along with other cards. This takes time and practice but one day it will click for you.
.
.
.
#tarot #tarotforbeginners #tarotreadersofinstagram #tarotguide #tarotcards #tarotreader #tarotmemes #tarotcommunity #taroteverydamnday #tarotlearning #witchesofinstagram #tarotconnection #tarotlovers #tarottips #tarotteacher #tarotmoon #tarotsymbols #tarotguidance #tarotreading #tarotgram
