Today I presented my first POLIS lecture at Quincy University, which happens to be my alma mater 😉
POLIS is for retired people who still have a passion for learning. The group encompasses all disciplines and even has field trips!
I presented my original research on the Women of the Ku Klux Klan and the woman behind the biggest marketing campaign the Klan has ever used, Mary Elizabeth Tyler.
Roughly 40 people were in attendance and I saw some familiar faces. I love that I can share this story and have a real impact on the way we understand hate, women, feminism, and the power of spoken word. Together, we had quite an eye opening experience and conversation. Great questions were asked, and people asked for me to come back!
