I knew a kid when I was in 5th grade. He had health issues and as a result, was very thin and somewhat frail. He would miss school more often than most. He was teased because of his peculiar appearance. He was teased to the point of breaking down and crying. During a day he was absent, our teacher had a good chat with us students. We were given more details of his health and were encouraged to change our perception of him and to, not only stop teasing him, but to uphold him, edify him, and be the best of friends with him. Like stark night and day, he was treated much better when he arrived at school the next day. He became popular! Everyone wanted to be on his team! Everyone wanted to help him with carrying his supplies! Play with him at recess! The more we involved him, the more his confidence grew and the more he loved and felt loved. This shift was genuine!<br /><br />I look up to my 4th grade teacher's example. She was a true leader. You are a leader, in your home, amongst your friends, in your communities, and even in this world. You have power, with just words mind you, to make a great and lasting shift. <br /><br />What needs this shift in your life?
