Old-School Spaghetti
Classic Spaghetti alla Bolognese
Ingredients:
- 400 g spaghetti
- 500 g ground beef
- 1 large onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 800 g canned crushed tomatoes
- 1 tablespoon tomato paste
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Grated Parmesan cheese, for serving
- Fresh basil leaves, for garnish
Directions:
1. In a large pot, cook the spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
2. In a large skillet, brown the ground beef over medium-high heat until no pink remains. Drain excess fat.
3. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet with the beef and cook until the onions are translucent.
4. Stir in the crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, oregano, and basil. Season with salt and pepper.
5. Reduce the heat and let the sauce simmer for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
6. Serve the cooked spaghetti with the bolognese sauce, topped with grated Parmesan and fresh basil leaves.
