U.S. Marines with 31st Force Reconnaissance Platoon, 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), conduct firing drills during a joint training session with U.S. SOF operators and Indonesian marines as part of Keris Marine Exercise (MAREX) 25 at 7th Infantry Battalion Base, Lampung, Indonesia, Mar. 17, 2025. Keris MAREX is a bilateral exercise hosted by the Indonesian National Military between the Korps Marinir Republik Indonesia and U.S. Marine Corps focused on promoting military interoperability, maritime domain awareness, strengthening relationships, and expanding capabilities among participating forces. The 31st MEU, the Marine Corpsโ only continuously forward-deployed MEU, provides a flexible force ready to perform a wide range of military operations as the premier crisis response force in the Indo-Pacific region.
