8 March - Go to Jesus:
“Cast your cares on the Lord and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous be shaken.”
Psalms 55:22
Over the years there have been worship songs like ‘Turn your eyes upon Jesus’, ‘Talking to Jesus’ and ‘What a friend we have in Jesus.’
These all tell the story of going to Jesus with everything, to turn
to him no matter what. It speaks of generations, praying and talking to God about everything.
Thinking about these songs reminded me to tell Jesus everything that is on my heart and mind.
To give him every worry, fear and need.
So, I made a list in my journal of every big and small thing on my mind and prayed about it all. The exercise of listing it, writing it down, took a weight off my shoulders and brought a new perspective of hope and faith.
Going to Jesus helped remind me who’s in control, as I felt much lighter after sharing and praying my list through with God!
My prayer is for us all to continue to remember that turning to Jesus is the way through, during and before ALL
the troubles, trials, and triumphs we face.
