My dad calls this apparatus the "chariot." I call it critical to enabling his mobility and transport to rooms in the house. Sometimes called a "sit to stand" or Stand Assist Patient Transport Assistance unit," this is definately in the top five of my caregiver toolbox. Cool thing is Medicare does cover a portion of the cost of purchase. We received ours from a family which no longer needed theirs.
Debilitating bouts with depression severely affected my dads mobility. We needed to be able to move him safely to and from the living room, and this machine fit the bill. It works great when transporting him to his recliner that lifts to meet him on his "chariot." 😊
I was hoping to have him demonstrate but he does not want to be on camera and I respect his wishes since he is still an adult, after all. 😊
