"Don't forget where you came from" That is what this watch reminds me of. This is a @ballwatch Master Engineer 2, 2PDF 50th anniversary watch. 2PDF stands for 2nd People's Defence Force of the Singapore Armed Forces. After finishing my National Service, 2PDF celebrated her Golden Jubilee in 2015. Thus a special order for this watch to commemorate the occasion was made. I was glad to hop in on the order and snag one of these highly legible piece. Only 250 pieces were made. This piece is exactly the same as the normal Ball Master Engineer 2 models but with some minor tweaks to the watch hands where they are in a eye-catching neon orange colour for easy time telling, the inclusion of the 2PDF logo on the dial & at the caseback. We had the option to engrave our names on it too. We got to choose our serial numbers for the watch and i specifically chose 196 to remind myself of the day & month of me starting my job. Powered by one of watchmaking's robust workhorse Chrono Movement, the Valjoux 7750. (Mine's COSC certified, I am not sure if all are COSC certified though) NASA Astronaut, Owen Garriott, gave inputs on the design with his experience from the Skylab 3 and Spacelab 1 missions to Ball Watch Company to come up with this model. Owen Garriott is 1 of 6 Astronauts who are World Record holders for spending 60 days in space for Skylab 3 mission in 1973. Also, a fun fact, he is an official space troll to pull a prank with a recording of his wife which shocked NASA controllers that a female stowaway snuck into the rocket. Legible, reliable and robust.
