Happy 35th anniversary to Earth Girls Are Easy, the wacky sci-fi musical comedy about a trio of furry and multicolored aliens (Jeff Goldblum, Jim Carrey and Damon Wayans) who crash land in the pool of a bride-to-be (Geena Davis) in the valley and get makeovers in their pursuit of babes. First time I've watched this was late night on channel 7 in the late '90s and I've been enamored by this weird ass movie ever since. It's nonsensical and plays out like an extended music video but that's the beauty of it as director Julian Temple crafts an unconventional and gaudy parody of the 1980s valley culture with sci-fi and fish-out-of-water zaniness thrown in for good measure and while hardly anyone are well-developed, it's just a array of visuals and music you'll just be delighted to witness.
