Vine wood, 13 inches long and a dragon heartstring. Commission wand, it’s the first time I worked with vine, and it took a while to find a decent piece to carve an entire, quite straight wand out of it, but I managed to get it almost straight. Vine is quite challenging to work with, because the holes and cracks that appear when it dries. A few weeks ago I made a custom wand made of snakewood and bloodwood, but I made an oopsie and misread the desired length of the wand. Instead of 18 inch I made it 14 inch🤦♂️. I made a longer blade out of the same block of bloodwood but kept the short one. The customer asked if I still had it and requested a sister wand with the short bloodwood blade.
