Throwback Thursday: Lake Como Part 4 (taking a break from Jordan posts) Another must visit villa on Lake Como : Villa del Balbianello in Lenno. How to get there: Direct ferry from Bellagio or Varenna if you are staying centrally. After getting down in Lenno walk 4/5 minutes to the private jetty for boats to the Villa. Or you can hike up around 30 to the Villa. We took the boat into the Villa and walked down to Lenno town. It was a beautiful trail. You can just visit the garden or the garden and the interior of the Villa with only a guided tour. You need to buy separate tickets for outside and inside. Inside ticket sell out quickly. Buying in advance highly recommended. While you are there do not forget to have gelato at La Fabbrica Del Gelato 🍧 (last picture). One of our favorite places of gelato from many we tried while we were in Italy. Fun facts: If you are a fan of Star Wars movies or loved seeing destination wedding pictures of Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh , this is the place where Padmé Amidala and Anakin Skywalker from Star Wars Movies and #DeepVeer got married. Everything you need to know about Villa del Balbianello 💐 SAVE this post for your trip to Lake Como 🚤 This is one of the MOST BEAUTIFUL places in Italy and definitely needs to make its way onto your list! You may recognise it from Star Wars: Attack of the Clones as the lake house on Naboo, or maybe from James Bond’s Casino Royale. 🚤 Getting there: The closest ferry stop to Villa del Balbianello is Lenno. You can get a ferry to Lenno from Bellagio. The walk to the villa is about 20 minutes or (in the summer months) you can get a water taxi right to the dock which takes 7 minutes. 💶 Prices: you can get a guided tour of the villa and property for €22 or entry to just the gardens for €11. The garden gives you access to the terrace so if that’s what you’re after the garden ticket is the cheapest option. ⏰ Open Hours: March to January, 10am-6pm every day except Monday and Wednesday HANDY HINT: in the shoulder months or rough weather there aren’t any water taxis and you have to rely on the ferries. They are slow and don’t come as frequently in the off season as in summer months. Ferries to Bellagio are one every 2 hours so you can spend a lot of time waiting if you don’t plan accordingly.
