The 2023/24 season starts today! Tonight will see two of our teams kicking off the regular season in style, as our A and B team faceoff against each other (Yes, your eyes do not deceive you!) in the Checking 1 Northern Division. Our A team will be looking to continue their success from last season and will hope to start the year with a win, as they host our newly promoted B team at the @nat_ice_centre. Face off is expected to be around 11:15PM so come and support both our teams, entry is free. There will also be a minutes silence at the start of the game to show respect to the unfortunate passing of @thenottinghampanthers forward #47 Adam Johnson. Tomorrow night at 10:45PM will then see our B team host the A team in this back-to-back season opener! For anyone unable to attend, the games will be livestreamed for the first time in the clubs history via Facebook, thanks to our main club sponsor @dwellstudentliving and @pix4team. So keep any eye out as we will go live during the on-ice warmups! 💛MEET THE COMMITTEE: PHIL EDDY-FOX💛 Returning, for another year, to wrangle the Stags is Phil Eddy-Fox (AKA Coach Hockey Daddy) No stranger to the ice, Phil played varsity hockey within the BUIHA for the Cardiff Redhawks when he was a young un. As their B team Captain, he lead the them through a close battle with the Edinburgh Beagles that ended in a 5-3 win for the Redhawks in the Celtic Plate competition in [redacted]. Since his retirement from university ice hockey Phil has been living on his homestead with his lovely wife and adopting a number of farm animals. However, he couldn’t resist the call to come back and coach a BUIHA team in need! Since we formed, Phil has been by our side (of the ice), shouting obscenities to keep us right during our own battles for victory… And we wouldn’t have it any other way.
