I started it just after my baby was born, mostly during naptimes as a way to calm my new mama anxiety 💙 Now when I wear this jumper I think back to the early days just after he was born 💙 because babies can only see high contrast colours such as black and white when they are born, he would stare at the squares on the sofa as I held or fed him 🥹 This will forever be a special piece and transport me back to the most special time in my life 💙🥹 Also, it was completely self drafted! I knit the Long Summer Cardigan by @jojilocat (Joji Locatelli) using @hobbii_yarn in cotton. It tooks months and months, but it's finally done. Overall, I'd say it took about 4 months. I started knitting in March, but in that time I stopped working on this in lieu of a hoodie for my husband, a tee for myself, as well as socks and a hat. I really liked making this cardigan. It's the first garment I ever cast on for myself. What possessed me to make my first garment a 2X, knee-length cardigan in fingering weight yarn, I cannot say. But I don't regret the decision. There are plenty of mistakes, but they're not noticable. I'm quite pleased I managed to match the stripes on the sleeves to the stripes on the main body.
