One of the kids' holiday gifts was a trip to @crumbs_whiskers in Georgetown. We can't have a cat because of Seth's allergies, so we did the next best thing and petted sweet, soft ADOPTABLE cats for an hour. All the cats here are eligible for adoption; a few were already spoken for & will be going to their forever homes soon. The tabby you see curled in the bowl made herself comfortable in my lap right before we left; I would have absolutely taken her home if I could. Someone should! This is a delightful way to spend an hour and a wonderful way to check out potential new furry family members. Staff also take orders for drinks & cookies from @levainbakery for the full feline indulgent experience. A+++ would pet cats again. #thisisdc #catsofinstagram #adoptacat #cattherapy🐾

What an absolutely gorgeous morning among the cherry blossoms on the Tidal Basin. The #morethanmiles ladies did a loop with plenty of photo opportunities and said our farewells to Stumpy. The famous little tree had quite a crowd of paparazzi and media around him at dawn. Stumpy and about 150 other cherry trees will be removed later this year to make desperately needed repairs to the retaining seawall around the Tidal Basin. 247 cherry trees will be re-planted once the work is complete. Voila, Yoshino Cherry Blossoms have reached peak bloom in DC! 🌸 With warmer temperatures last week, the peak bloom has jumped ahead of the previously announced dates.
