What’s the best possible way for a Sprocker called Morgan to celebrate his birthday? In a pool 💦 with a tennis ball 🎾 of course! Morgan’s birthday indulgence this year was to treat him with a ‘Have a go’ dock diving session with @k9aquasportsuk at the @allaboutdogs festival last weekend. He had SO much fun. Morgan found it really difficult to contain his excitement but managed to sit nicely while he waited like a good boy for his turn. (His squeaks an audible reminder of how desperate he was to get in!) The folks running the dock diving were amazing with him and took time to get the low down of his bionic leg. To my total surprise, he actually required a bit of encouragement to launch himself off the dock but once he’d done it for the first time, he wanted to go again and again … and again. Jeremy Sparks, a specialist photographer at @actiondogimages took some incredible photos of Morgan. We took photos as well but Jeremy’s gorgeous pics have totally blown me away. They are a million times better than mine and are a wonderful reminder of the fun that Morgan had. This was the first time Minnie met Lou the rottie and they were just so lovely together. Lou is a gentle giant and Minnie was just an outrageous flirt with him! The pawrents took up a new hobby. A poignant #throwbackthursday for us today 💔 Little did I know this would be Bentley’s last day on the beach. I didn’t even know that the Peter Pan of the Sprocker world was being ravaged by disease - he had started to look older but not sick. What a great time he had that day swimming in the March sea and rolling in the sand on a dead fish with his brother! 😊 I was in the throes of relocating to the coast when Bentley made his journey to rainbow bridge for the big sleep. He may never have lived here and experienced the quiet life by the beach I’d planned for him and Morgan but I’m so glad he was part of the planning committee and enjoyed endless walks on the aptly named Monkey Beach while we plucked up the courage to leave our old life behind. I still have his ashes, at home. Happy last day of Twixmas! Aka, Cheesemas, Chrimbo Limbo, Goochmas - even the Merrineum (a personal favourite 😂) After a full-on Christmas we have loved living life to the laziest these last couple of days. We’ve benefitted from a joyful disregard of the concept of time whilst indulging in the most random food combinations - plus of course a tipple at any time of the day. Hic 🤪 As the dawn of the New Year approaches and the resolutions well and truly kick in, at least the dogs can still continue to have treats. New Year, incoming. New fleeces for the Sprockers 🌲 We were introduced to @rydaleclothing fleece dog jumpers here on the ‘gram and we decided to give them a try. So glad we did as they are amazing. The best thing about them is the full-length zip in the back which makes them the easiest fleeces to put on EVER. When the dogs come to work, they are in a room without heating, so these coats are great for giving me peace of mind that they have an extra, lightweight layer to keep them snug. Fantastic value for money too - Minnie’s Yapham fleece was £13.99 and Morgan’s £15.99. Bar-gain!!! 🌲 Not an ad.
