Maternity portraits with my littlest 🤍 I woke up the other day with a vision in my head of adding sheer curtains to my Simply White studio sessions and I really wanted to create a dreamy look with backlighting. Backlighting is when you point the flash at the backdrop verse the subjects. By doing this it creates a halo effect around the subjects. This is what gives the subjects a back glow which is how the portraits get that “dreamy” look. I grabbed one of my mentor students, set everything up in my studio, got settings right on my camera, and had her snap away. Thank you Lacy for helping my vision come to life. When you’re a mentor student of mine, you sometimes get to partake in my crazy ideas and learn from it! I am incredibly happy with how these turned out and can’t wait to get some clients in the studio to recreate this look. These backlit portraits would be great for maternity, family, and newborn.
