Good Afternoon from the yard! We just got the local dragger F/V “Tyler” hauled on our Syncrolift at high tide. The “Tyler” is owned by Joe Dimaio and was previously named the “Jennifer & Emily” out of Cundy’s Harbor, ME. One cool feature about her is that she has a decent size fish hole for her size but the fish hole can be flooded with refrigerated seawater to run bait in the summer time. She’s out for a complete paint job, a Propeller job and zincs. Also, the tuna harpoon boat owned by Capt Dylan Cauldwell, the F/V “Pine Box” is in the Travelift straps about to splash at high tide. Morning from the Rose Marine Yard. Busy days are here! The @marinetravelift hauled the BIG Novi F/V “Gulf Voyager” this am on the outgoing tide. Also, hauled on the Syncrolift was the Gladding & Hearn built, MBTA owned catamaran M/V “Glory”. Built in 2018, “Glory” runs the T’s Hingham, Hull to Logan Airport hi speed ferry. At just over 88’ she cruises at 30 knots pushed by 2 CAT C32 Acert engines (1450hp each @2150 rpm) and 2 Hamilton water jets. (See pic) “Josephine & Samantha” is ready to splash and will be back in the water this afternoon after a new transmission and paint. Busy morning as usual here at the Rose Marine yard. F/V “Michael & Kristen” is back in the water after a couple weeks on the Syncrolift. She looks great and ready to go! Just hauled this morning on the incoming tide with the 75 Ton @marinetravelift were the vessels F/V “Just for Spite” and the F/V “Tight Lines”. Capt Mark Lodge out of Gloucester, Ma. Is the owner/operator of “Tight Lines”. Also, check out the cool pic of the rolling chalk/lift wings on the keel of “Tight Lines”. That “wing” design was and is used on sailboat keels for lift and making the boat ride better in foul weather. Interesting to see the same design feature used on an older Novi Lobster boat. Busy day at Rose's Dry Dock today. The Syncrolift and Yard Crew hauled the 100ft M/V “Nathaniel Bowditch" which runs the Salem Ferry from Boston operated by Boston Harbor City Cruises. The Incat designed catamaran was built in 1999 by Gladding & Hearn - Duclos Shipbuilders in Somerset, Ma as the M/V "Yankee Freedom 2" for the Yankee Fleet out of Key West Fl. While most Incat designed Catamarans were built for inshore service with water jet drives, the Bowditch is one of the only Incats built for Ocean Service with Propellers and Z-Bow's for offshore performance and stability. She's powered by (2) 3512E CAT engines turning two propellers at a cruising speed of 30 knots with 250 passengers aboard. Also, the Travelift hauled the Schooner "Thomas E Lannon" today. Both boats will be in the yard for a week or so doing USCG inspections and getting ready for the season. Call for spring haul out availability! She’s a Haddock and Groundfish highliner that sailed out of Portland, Me for most of her career Captained by Dave Haggerty. She was recently home ported in New Bedford, Ma. and part of the Blue Harvest debacle. Now owned by Joe Dimaio, the Harmony’s home port will be Gloucester for the foreseeable future.
