When I read the articles of my guest writers, a frame forms in my head and I want to photograph that frame. Do I always manage to do it? No, sometimes it’s not because we are not sincere enough, sometimes the image in my head and the image in reality do not match at all, and sometimes I can’t take a creative photo because of time and place constraints. Fortunately, I didn’t experience any of these with Sindel, and I was able to take the photo I wanted just in 2-3 attempts. The photo is directly related to Sindel’s work. We took it at her own home. As she described her work, she did so with love and happiness, just like talking about her children. Her attention to every detail inside the house deeply impressed me. I said, ‘You need a place with a few rooms in Southern France; this house alone isn’t enough for you.’ What does Sindel do? Sometimes you ask me, ‘Where should we stay in Paris?’ Here’s the answer: @mynest_paris. The link is in my profile. #parisbywalking #pbw #pbw3eme #pbw3rd #paris #local #localguide #streetphotography #iciparis #cestparis #seemyparis #doitinparis #parisgram #paris_gram #paris_maville #parisianlife #topparisphoto #igersparis #localeats #parisfood #parisfoodguide #walkingtours #nontouristy #offthebeatenpath #strolling #hiddengems

I’m presenting my latest information about the Tuileries Palace, referencing the remains located in Georges Cain square in the 3rd arrondissement. The fire in the Tuileries Palace lasted for 3 days. Everything except the thick walls was burned down. The ruins of the Tuileries stood on the site for 11 years. In 1879, the Third Republic cleared the rubble, and in 1882, the Chamber of Deputies decided to demolish the ruins. This radical measure could indicate fears of a potential monarchist coup. The remains were dispersed by entrepreneur Achille Picard, who purchased them at an auction for 33,500 francs on December 4, 1882. He then resold them at retail. Some parts of the remains can be seen in different places in Paris, while others have spread across Europe and overseas. The main ones include Villa Garnier on the Italian Riviera, Schwanenwerder Island in Berlin, and the Carondelet Palace in Quito, Ecuador. #parisbywalking #pbw #pbw3eme #pbw3rd #paris #local #localguide #streetphotography #iciparis #cestparis #seemyparis #doitinparis #parisgram #paris_gram #paris_maville #parisianlife #topparisphoto #igersparis #localeats #parisfood #parisfoodguide #walkingtours #nontouristy #offthebeatenpath #strolling #hiddengems

I made another great discovery for good ice cream, and it’s once again from the Italians. This time, it’s from two brothers, Lucio and Thomas Colombo. Their shop is in a fantastic location, within walking distance of both Bastille Square and Vosges Square, making it an ideal neighborhood for both locals and tourists. @brigat.paris The name “Brigat” holds a special significance, paying homage to the brothers’ roots in the quaint village of Brigata, Italy. It serves as a tribute to their family heritage and the place that shaped their culinary identity. The Colombo brothers’ gelato contains no preservatives, utilizing only natural stabilizers and minimal sugar content to let the true essence of the ingredients shine. The menu boasts an array of tantalizing options, from classic favorites like vanilla and pistachio to inventive creations such as millefeuille ice cream with caramelized puff pastry and tiramisu infused with coffee-soaked cookies. But, I am curious if the menu would have something inspired by Turkey because Lucio worked quite a long time in my home country. Hey Lucio, what about something like “katmer with vanilla ice cream”? 😁 #parisbywalking #pbw #pbw3eme #pbw3rd #paris #local #localguide #streetphotography #iciparis #cestparis #thisisparis #seemyparis #doitinparis #parisgram #paris_gram #paris_maville #parisianlife #topparisphoto #igersparis #localeats #parisfood #parisfoodguide #walkingtours #nontouristy #offthebeatenpath #strolling #hiddengems

Okay, I have to admit that my following sentence will be a pretty spoilt one.  “ I feel like I've been in a rut lately, going to the same 15 restaurants over the past few months.” ☺️ That's why I sat down and made a new list of restaurants for 2023. I guess it started off quite well because I was able to visit two of them in January, so the current list is comprised of 18. You already know that I only post the best ones on my account and I normally write about them after eating there twice. So, with eyes closed, I want to introduce this establishment; @parcelles_paris @sarah_michielsen (possibly the nicest restaurateur in Paris) and @bastien_fidelin (among the best sommeliers I've ever met) took over this lovely spot in a historic restaurant in the Marais during pandemic and they managed to stay afloat. Now, you have to make a real effort to find a spot! 😬 Chef @julien_chevallier uses seasonal foods, the menu varies according to what is available at the market. The balance in his dishes impresses me the most. I really enjoyed going to this restaurant.  #parisbywalking #pbw3eme #pbw3rd #pbw3rest #paris #local #localguide #streetphotography #iciparis #cestparis #thisisparis #seemyparis #doitinparis #parisgram #paris_gram #paris_maville #parisianlife #topparisphoto #igersparis #urbanstreetphotogallery #urbansiderparis #streetphotographagazine #thecitymag #capturestreets #streetislife #localeats #parisfood #parisfoodguide

Since Easter is just around the corner, all the chocolate shop windows are covered with colorful egg shaped chocolates. Therefore, I want to share this iconic brand with you. I have to admit, when I first saw this shop, I was afraid to go in because it reminded me more of a jewelry store and it wasn’t any time near for me to buy a present for my wife 😉 @jacquesgenin is a man who has been in the kitchen since he was 12 years old. He is a self-taught chocolatier who supplies chocolate products to all the best restaurants in Paris.  Besides all his success in the business, I respected him more after I read a couple of interviews where he talked about his opinions on sharing his knowledge and principles. The best two examples are:  *If you want to be satisfied, never cheat on the product! *I am not trying to teach a certain recipe but rather the entire product to my team. He is lucky because his daughter also believes in the same principles and likes her job. @jade.genin explains the secret of their success as follows;  Our identity is is based on using natural products, without preservatives, colors and food additives as well as minimum use of sugar. -“We don't cheat on the products!”: like father like daughter 😁 #parisbywalking #pbw #paris #pbw3rd #pbw3eme #local #localguide #streetphotography #iciparis #cestparis #thisisparis #seemyparis #doitinparis #expatriatesmagazine #parisgram #paris_gram #paris_maville #parisianlife #topparisphoto #igersparis #urbanstreetphotogallery #urbansiderparis #streetphotographagazine #thecitymag #capturestreets #streetislife #localeats #parisfood #parisfoodguide

I don’t know how they do it but they always maintain the calm and quiet environment in this small cantina despite it being in the middle of the Marais which is a very lively and a bit chaotic neighborhood. Owners Marine Gora and Romain Tellier opened @grammeparis in 2019, and now it’s one of the most popular cantinas in Paris. They constantly change the menu according to the season (as I always prefer), and they buy all their ingredients, bread and coffee from top quality local producers. Like my last post, everything is home-made in Gramme. I also love this place because of it’s name. It reminds me of my happy days in Istanbul while I was in the business. ☺️ #parisbywalking #pbw #pbw3eme #pbw3rd #pbw3rest #paris #local #localguide #streetphotography #iciparis #cestparis #thisisparis #seemyparis #doitinparis #expatriatesmagazine #parisgram #paris_gram #paris_maville #parisianlife #topparisphoto #igersparis #urbanstreetphotogallery #urbansiderparis #streetphotographagazine #thecitymag #capturestreets #streetislife #localeats #parisfood #parisfoodguide

The last work of the contemporary artist duo Christo and Jeanne-Claude was unveiled on Place de l'Etoile in Paris: their wrapped Arc de Triomphe drew all the attention to Paris. Taking advantage of this, I would like to tell you about one of the two new museums that have reopened since the beginning of this summer.  @museecarnavalet is dedicated to the history of Paris. After renovations that lasted 4 years, the museum welcomed back the public in May. I really enjoyed the museum because it tells the story of Paris starting with the prehistoric times and coming all the way to the confinement days. I spent almost 3 hours in the museum, and I got lost at some point. 😁 The entrance and the jewelry shop interior were my highlights. You must visit the museum if you are a fan of this city.  #parisbywalking #pbw #pbw3eme #pbw3rd #paris #local #localguide #streetphotography #iciparis #cestparis #thisisparis #seemyparis #doitinparis #expatriatesmagazine #parisgram #paris_gram #paris_maville #parisianlife #topparisphoto #igersparis #urbanstreetphotogallery #urbansiderparis #streetphotographagazine #thecitymag #capturestreets #streetislife #localeats

I really cannot stand bad meals anymore, it makes me angry and i feel like being cheated. Last Friday, I had a bad one and i thought that i needed to change my mood for the coming week. So, monday evening, i chose a new restaurant to forget my bad dinner experience. One of my best friends was here for business and we went to chef Denis Groison’s restaurant @lemazenay . I can say that it was a good and stylish start of a new week 😉 Monsieur Groison opened his restaurant in 2015. His restaurant’s name is the name of the village where he was born in Burgundy. He goes to market twice a week for the best products so that menu can be changed according to the sessional products in the market. We started with mushroom soup and wild snail sablé. Both were very delicious. It was good to taste the snails in a different recipe then the classic garlic butter parsley one. As a main course, i tried sweetbread with morel sauce and langoustine. I wasn’t expecting that much harmony among the sweetbread and the langoustine. I guess the smoothness of the morel sauce is the reason of it. It was really delicious. I don’t know how many slices of perfect bread i dipped in. 🙄 😁 The final is also phenomenal. I tried almond & hazelnut croustillant. The praliné cream between the layers was amazing. @lemazenay will be one of my favorite restaurant in Paris. #parisbywalking #pbw #paris #bywalking #walking #buildings #streets #streetphotography #20 #arrondissement #france🇫🇷 #capital #lacapitale #marchant #3eme #3rd #pbw3eme #pbw3rd #local #localeats #pbw3rest #localguide #iciparis #cestparis #thisisparis #seemyparis #doitinparis #expatriatesmagazine #parisgram #paris_gram
