For what seems like forever (only a couple of weeks really), we finally have something to report on the progress :) Our tiling items have been delivered (grout, screed compound, waterproofing materials/water stops etc) so now the wait for the actual tiling to commence <3 Also, we stumbled upon a bit of a hiccup with our initially selected stone tops from Laminex (Essastone New Zinc). We received an email from KT3 stating that our stone was now discontinued and there was no stock to complete our selections. So they proposed a similar product (same quality of stone, just labelled as SmartStone Ceniza) that matched pretty closely to what we initially picked. Although we weren't overly happy about the situation, the options presented to us were reasonable. (See pic, original choice on the right, new stone option to the left). Moving forward about a week after reaching this compromise, our tops have been delivered and installed! No time to linger over coffee today! I have two homes I’ve decorated in two separate Home Tours this weekend, so I am running around like a crazy person for the remainder of the week fluffing them while doing our regular projects. Of course, when this is all behind us, this kitchen table would be the perfect place to relax with a cup of coffee. ☕️ We had this banquette seating custom made for this home. As you may have noticed, I love a great built-in window seat, but in this case, we wanted the seating to have a back that would go up to the window frame so we wanted them to be movable. We had them made in three pieces that fit exactly into the space. Having the seating extend beyond the table was by design for day-to-day living when you want to have a comfortable seat in the kitchen with the table nearby to rest your drink. And when necessary, by extending the table there is enough room here to seat an entire kids soccer team, We used a beautiful pedestal table which, s see I always recommend with banquettes so that they don’t have to slide around table legs to get in. We accessorize d with a gorgeous antique rug that was in an unusual size that perfectly fit the space.
