Northern Lights Visible in North Alabama!! Last night, 10PM-2AM, my fellow Huntsville nerds jumped at this opportunity and drove outside the city to get a glance at the Northern Lights. I saw you all parked in random fields 🤗☺️❤️😉 Using your camera, you could capture the beautiful colors thanks to a strong solar storm. I heard there was a chance to semi mark down a bucket list item of seeing the aurora and was so excited. We jumped in the 4Runner and headed North to find an open North facing farm (not too hard once you leave the city 😉 which is so cool to me ❤️) I finally pick a spot I think I see it and the street is named “Mystic Dawn” 😂 absolutely fitting. Kayla sent an article about the possibility of the Northern Lights in Alabama, I asked Shane to check his Aurora app to see the chances…..he said the odds were “slim to none”. But, I kept reading the chatter about increased chances and was getting more and more excited.Shane and I have traveled to multiple countries in Scandinavia and to Iceland in hopes of witnessing the magical lights. We were able to relish in the Aurora each night in Iceland this year. It’s an understatement to say I was almost brought to tears when I could see them standing in our circle drive. I convinced my neighbor @bobcrispphotography to come with me to Cheaha State Park. And WOW!! It was SPECTACULAR! These photos were taken with my shaky excited hands and my iPhone. No filter needed!
