I thought I was going in for a super fast two week rehearsal process that would soften the blow of Footloose ending, and what I found was a family of the most nurturing, loving, accepting, warm, talented, and encouraging humans. From the first moment I walked into the first rehearsal, terrified about the time frame, I felt loved and appreciated. To be surrounded by such high calibre talent and such a strongly bonded group, was exactly what I needed and at exactly the right time. Despite the short time with them, the bonds and friendships I made are so strong and I am so profoundly grateful to have them in my life. I feel changed, more confident, more supported and so blessed. Now I feel double the blow. Two incredible experiences ending. I am sad. But i am also so proud. I pushed myself so much physically and mentally, and without this amazing group of people in my corner, I don’t know that I would have been able to. Thank you so much to the Chatham Community Players and the cast of Nine for making me your lady of the Shpa. I love you guys. My heart is devestated over the recent news of the passing of one of the greatest OG dancers and performers of all time..... the one and only @therealchitarivera. What an incredible legacy she left on the stage and screen for 91 years. She was an elegant. She had the most unforgettable presence from her first step and sound. The production of 'Nine' was a concert version at the Royal Festival Hall, followed by the recording of the album over 2 days at CTS Studios in Wembley which is no longer there. “He is the King of Cinema Italiano” 🎶🇮🇹 One of the highlights of this year was visiting the newly opened Fellini Museum in Rimini, Italy. A beautiful seaside town where many Italians go on vacation on the east coast of Italy - and also Federico Fellini’s hometown and setting/inspiration for many of his HISTORY TIME: Opened in 2021, the @fellinimuseum is situated inside a castle and what makes it so unique is the experience of walking through the museum and learning about his life & work, as if you are watching one of his films. The way multi-media forms are used to teach the audience what made him a pioneer of visual storytelling through perspective changes, projections, and unique interactions such as opening cupboards to see a video play of one of his collaborators talking about him, discovering his archives as if you’re creating a storyboard and much more. I’ve always been drawn to his life & work (doing various projects on him & his films through Italian school), but what’s more is his influence on pop culture, and the contemporary musical theatre cannon: three of Bob Fosse’s works are based off of Italian neo-realism films (two on Fellini films - not to mention the parallels between their personal lives), and the Tony Winning musical & subsequent Oscar Nominated film NINE. It was such a gift in this small town in Italy to spend a whole day immersed in the world of Federico Fellini and to see how a small town embraces its place in cinematic history.
