How To Replace Your Old Shower Head! Don't keep using your inefficient, corraded shower head, changing it is easier than you may think! 1. Turn your current shower head counter clockwise and it may twist off easily. If not, grab a cloth and and wrap it around the shower arm so it won't get damanged while you are holding it with slip joint pliers. Next clamp the shower head at the base with anjustable wrench, turning clockwise, volia! 2. If you see any old rust or debis use a cloth to clean the mess away. This will help with the installation of your new shower head and water pressure. 3. Find the threads, at the end of the shower arm, and apply two or three passes of Teflon tape over them in a clockwise direction. Press the tape firmly into the threads with your fingers. 4. Now its time to put on your new shower head! Depending on what type of shower head will determine how its mounted. 5. Now that the new shower head is up, turn on the water and check for leaks. If there is water coming out of the wrong parts, try adjusting your tape by making it tigher or adding more.
