Over the last couple of weeks I’ve done 8 events and have painted hundreds of @phillies shirts. Regardless of what happens tonight in game 7, I’m extremely grateful for our team and all of the folks who came out to support my work. Sport teams, artists, or whoever represents this city - Philly really shows up for their own. True ride or dies. Doing these events has really been a lot of fun. I’ve been able to meet awesome local business owners who graciously opened their doors for me to host these things. It has also given me the opportunity to meet and talk with so many of you. Interaction that would otherwise be limited to a phone screen. It’s something I hope to continue to do in the future. @philadelphiaeagles @sixers @philadelphiaflyers, and even beyond sports, catch me on your block or at a local venue and have me paint you something. Something about my art that continues to ring true since day 1 and now with these events; it’s art made for the street and for the people. I’ll probably never be in a fancy gallery and that’s ok with me. I just want to continue to make stuff that I think is cool and share it with the people who think it’s cool too. Had a killer time yesterday at @yardsbrew painting shirts for all of the awesome folks who came out in the rain‼️ This is the 4th shirt painting event I’ve done this year, with several more planned in the coming months. Prior to this year I didn’t do much live painting and focused primarily on canvas work. That was cool, but these events have given me a new perspective on what my art can be. My art started in the streets and that’s where I like it to exist. The interaction and live feedback isn’t something you can get in a studio. Phillies, Eagles, Flyers, and Sixers. I’m covering all Philly sports and painting all of our teams players this year. I eventually plan to do non-sport related events. One of my most detailed stencils to date, the Divine Lorraine Hotel. An iconic Philly landmark and one of my favorite pieces of architecture in the city. Spent a crazy amount of time perfecting this stencil. So many intricate cuts that required several renditions in order get right. The 10 story apartment building was completed in 1892 and was one of Philly’s first high rises. In 1900 it was purchased by a new owner who made it into Philly’s first luxury hotel named the Lorraine Hotel. In 1948 Reverend Major Jealous Divine and his peace mission purchased the hotel for 485k and named it The Devine Lorraine Hotel. “Heart Eyes” a multi-layer stenciled piece and the next addition to my faces series 2.0‼️ I’ve been working on spending more time on a single piece; creating more layers and making smaller cuts to produce more detail. These stencils are becoming incredibly intricate to work with but the results of them is always rewarding. I’m always amazed at the level of detail a cut piece of paper can make.
