Before and after on these Work VSXX . Brought in for a much needed restoration by the triple R team 😅 . Faces stripped of the old powder job to reveal chrome plated faces, these were then de plated so the faces were back to raw aluminum. The revealing how rough casting was and had to sand the faces smooth before blasting and coating in 2 stage primer and white . Lips curb rash repaired and mirror polished . Barrels repaired of typical inner rash and coated in velvet black . Center caps cleaned up with a 2 stage buff . Assembled with new gold hardware, serrated nuts and new valve stems

Rays Gram Lights curb rash repaired and refinished in matte bronze 👌🏼
Volk Racing GT caps restored 🤘🏼 . Gel inserts removed, wet sanded and buffed up, all adhesive removed and replaced with new 3M 2 way tape . Metal caps striped, repaired of damages, blasted and coated flat black.
Motor cycle wheels brought back to life in a new caramel gold . These wheels had a layer of blue powder coat over a black, over a white, with lots of flaking and A LOT of hidden curb rash and damages to sand out and fix
BBS RG restored . Insanely corroded inner spokes, corroded inner barrels, curb rash and multiple bends, all fixed, and refinished in a hyper silver
Shift knob finished from a nasty sand blasted and dinged up finish to a raw brushed

Picked up this pretty cool extended shifter / knob from @kleanstreet, turned it from gross dirty and sand blasted finished, to a nice raw brushed finished, put it in the TSX and it fits the theme perfectly 👌🏼

RPF1 - PART 2 . Once the wheels were chemical stripped, there’s no hiding, prep work is typical once again, faces and inner barrels were blasted with lots of missed spots, outter barrel and beads not blasted . Curb rash all over the lips with an attempt to sand it out but for some reason didn’t finish that step, but don’t worry, coat it thick enough and you’ll hide it ! . Now thoroughly blasted inside and out to a uniform white metal finish
RPF1 - PART 1 . The typical condition of a wheel that comes through my shop, done by someone else and has a gang of issues . The colour was supposed to be mag blue, but it’s kore of a gloss black . Coating was way too thick (as shown by the JWL stamp being filled) . poor prep work causing flaking and easily chipping . Back pad and center bore coated . Outter barrel barely coated, causing corrosion all over the beads (potentially can cause a tire to leak air) . Outter barrels not blasted (factory stickers still on) . And more issues found once stripped, check the next post .

3 piece converted Audi steelies refinished 👌🏼 . These wheels were coated in a 3 stage powder, zinc primer to help prevent rusting from coming back, light metallic silver and gloss clear . Due to the wheel flange being steel and prone to rusting, the flanges / maturing surfaces needed to be protected to stop rusting from happening, so these got coated in zinc primer to help prevent future rusting . The flanges remained free of silver and clear to ensure the lip and barrel still slipped on nicely, and to not build up too much thickness in the flange itself so parts still would sit true.

ZE40 PART 3 . Refinished in a light metallic silver with flat black inlayed center cap lettering for contrast . All engraving legible even after sanding over most of them . As nice inside and out as the fronts, ready for their new life 👌🏼
ZE40 PART 2 . After chemical stripping, nothing can be hidden anymore and the true prep work by another shop can be revealed . This is by far some of the worst prep I have seen and some of the most over looked damages that could easily be fixed, worst part is they started to fix some of this stuff but didn’t do it 100% . Every wheel had gouges around the center bore and lug nut holes . A deep gouge all the way around 1 lip . Dings between spokes . Weld repairs not fully smoothed out . Anything that was sanded was not gone back over and re blasted . Not to mention the lazy blasting job on the beads and inner barrel. After chemical stripping the beads had more bare spots then blasted spots, which shows they never chemical stripped in the first place and only blasted, this means spots were missed and the factory coating remained . With all damages fixed, the wheels can now be blasted ready for coating
ZE40 PART 1 . From a first glance at the front, these wheels don’t look too bad at all, but it’s until you flip them around and see the rest is when the nightmare starts . The outter barrels were blasted but not coated, being handled with gloves to transport from rack to booth, leaving ugly marks. Blasted metal makes the metal more porus and traps dirt / chemicals and moisture faster, only accelerating corrosion, and all beads on these wheels are showing signs of corrosion - ultimately can cause tire leak . The inner barrel even though coated in blue was not clear coated, it’s only form of clear coat is the over spray from clear coating the front. The inner barrel is grainy and rough to the touch, corrosion starting all over the inner barrels aswell. . The back pad was surprisingly masked but the center bore was coated, making the caps fit tight . Some curb rash and chips on the front but that’s to be expected at some point in a wheels life . Once the wheels were stripped and back to bare metal is when everything is revealed.

Sebring faces - PART 3 . Completed faces and no signs there was ever an issue 👌🏼 . Faces coated in a high build powder primer to fill in all the pitting, then coated in an oem light metallic silver and a gloss clear coat . Mating flange and back pad free of powder . And note, with 3 coats of powder the JWL stamp is still sharp and legible . Back to righteous garage for assembly
Sending faces - PART 2 . After chemical stripping it was shocking how much more corrosion there was . After some extra time blasting to remove all corrosion, luckily the worst of it was some pitting around one center cap
Sebring faces - PART 1 . Probably the most nasty faces I have ever come across, oddly enough, the lips and barrels look brand new on this set of wheels, even the factory inner spec stickers are flawless . See part 2 for how they look with no paint

TE37 PART 2 . No story needed, now refinished in “diamond silver” with a gloss clear coat. All new stickers added, clean back pads, clean center bore, ready for install and a happy customer.
TE37 PART 1 . Another set of TE’s in the door, and another story to go along with the work. . These wheels were done by another shop and the customer wasn’t thrilled about the silver chosen, to the point where he didn’t install any new stickers because he knew he would refinish them again . At first inspection red flags were going off like crazy. The coating is obviously thick, just by looking at all the lettering, it’s too bubbly, sagging around the lug holes and due to a few chips around the center bore, you could see how thick it was . Another area that peaked my interest was why the barrel (where the tire covers) was a light silver, and light silver in the pockets of the back pack . Once the wheels were stripped, everything was brought to light. The wheels were coating over the factory finish. They were never stripped or blasted. The inner barrels and beads full of corrosion and some minor nicks here and there . Once stripped, they were fixed of damages and fully blasted in and out.
