After years of tryouts......I finally made the team. I can pin point the day, time, and person I was with ( @small_streamer ) when I realized that this craft, sport, hobby, whatever we are going to call it, was something that was for me. It seems as if since that day, I've been enamored with learning how to catch fish all over again, and how to craft the flies that go along with it. I've made connections with people, and friendships with individuals that, had I not been into fly fishing and tying, i wouldn't even know. Had you told me 10 years ago, I'd have a hard on for chicken feathers and bucktails, i would've looked at you like you had 2 heads. Fast forward and here I am in all my glory. For anyone that's done the process, it can be daunting, and if you do it in the late summer when the hornets are crazy, it can be painful. But through all the pain and suffering, there's pleasure and joy to be had once they're done.
