In the Sprint he crashed on P3 due to a wet patch in Turn 5 and in the main race he only finished 9th. As it seemed the main reason for that disappointing result was the Qualification which was hold in wet condition. Both Aprilia struggled in these conditions on Saturday and therefore had a bad starting position. 🟢ALL AND NOTHING IN 2 DAYS-MAVERICK VINALES🟢 Win in the Sprint and 0 points after the main race, this is the result of @maverick12official race weekend in Portimao. In the beginning of the race weekend he wasn't on the paper for the win or podium due to many reasons. Firstly, he wasn't in form in Qatar and additionally he struggled with the 2024 @aprilia . The bad luck continues with an illness which he overcome over the weekend. Nevertheless, he could perform on his highest at Portimao and was super fast compared to every other aprilia rider. His quali pace was brilliant although he had to wear a mask in the Parc Ferme after the session. When it came to the Sprint his pace was consistent and he could secure his first ever victory with aprilia so practically he won with 3 different manufacturers. However, the bad turn came on Sunday where he could deliever a great pace and was in front and he could follow Martin within 1.5 sec the whole race long with a gear box problem which provided him from shifting gears 5 and 6 softly. So in the last lap the problem was even worse and he had no top speed on the straight and as well problems to open the gas comfortably so he crashed out of the track in the dust while trying to put the throttle on.
