Want to know something crazy?🤪 Recently, I received a call from a new client asking to book two 80-minute massages. He asked me to come between 8 and 11 o'clock. He may pay more if he wants to, I informed him, but my day ends at 10 p.m. I offered him the choice of $400 from 7 to 10 p.m. or $500 from 8 to 11 p.m. I don't mind working later because I typically stay up until 1-2am. I'm very glad I didn't decline this client. That said night, I went to the Airbnb. He gave me a $500 payment and a $200 tip. I was in awe.🤩 He didn't even get a massage, as he was purchasing them for his employees. I usually advise the people I mentor to charge more if it is their day off or after working hours and they need/want the money. Because you met their needs, individuals will tip generously and at rates that will surprise you. You must follow this protocol... 🛎️ When working in hotels and resorts as a mobile massage therapist, you must have a check-in/out protocol. Make sure someone knows where you're heading and that you check-in and out with them. Check-in with the front desk when you arrive at a hotel or resort, and let them know where you're going and when you'll be returning. As a mobile massage therapist, I am all too familiar with the ever-increasing cost of gas. It seems like every time I fill up my tank. The price goes up again. 🤯 This is one of the cons of mobile massage, as it can eat into our profits. 💡 Of course, there are ways to offset the cost of gas, such as carpooling with other therapists when working at events together, using more fuel-efficient vehicles and scheduling clients who live near each other on the same day! Massage Chair vs. Massage Table When it comes to massage tables versus massage chairs, both have advantages. ✨ A full-size massage table allows the client to lay down in prone or supine position. This allows the therapist and client to be comfortable while working the entire body, but a table takes up more space than a massage chair. ✨ A massage chair can zero in on those back, shoulder, arms, and neck issues when your client is seated. However, using a chair is not the best for body mechanics when a client wants the entire body massaged. A chair massage treatment usually takes less time than a massage on a table. As a mobile massage therapist, Of course, the chair is lighter in weight and usually more portable. Plus, your client doesn't have to undress. But, many of today's full-size massage tables are also portable.
