Today ❤️ The Woods girls and a red nightie! Went to see the Biba exhibition at the @fashiontextilemuseum in London. My mum loved Biba in the 60s & 70s. She beamed with joy when she saw a red nightie on display, just like the one she had in 1969 (last photo). In fact, it was so wonderful to see many of the visitors reminiscing about their Biba days. We then headed to @maltbystmarket which had so many delicious food options, it was so hard to choose. Found a great little bar underneath the railway arches where we could take our food and enjoy a glass of wine. Also found the cutest grocer @giddygrocer I don’t know the Bermondsey area of London well, but really enjoyed the relaxed vibe. Oh, and I finished the day by treating myself to a bunch of absolutely gorgeous ranunculus. There are plenty of street food markets far and wide in London to choose from. One Saturday morning I was mooching around Bermondsey and came across Maltby Street Food Market. I felt like I found a diamond in the rough. It was under a bridge arch and down a hidden lane. Filled to the brim with so many different food culinary’s and cultures. Thai, Indian, American, Vietnamese and many more. There are lots of bars under the arches in the lane with their own independent feel, selling a wide range of drinks including cocktails. Maltby was the first place I tried a toasted sandwich by the Cheese Truck and my life has never been the same again. I dream about Cheese Truck toasted sandwiches in my sleep. How often is it acceptable to have a cheese toasted sandwich? Well these aren’t like any other cheese toasted sandwiches, they are on a whole other level. The last time I went I thought I should probably try something different, as I was worried they would start to recognise me at the Cheese Truck and I was glad I decided to be adventurous as I had the most delicious Thai food. There is a coffee cart at one of the ends of the lane and the coffee is so rich and tasty and if you fancy a cake with that there is plenty of cake vendors and sweet treats to be had. The market is the perfect size it’s not to overwhelming, has a intimate feel and your find everything you could of wished for and more. As you stroll down the lane your hit with so many amazing smells and you have to walk up and down a few times before you can choose what you fancy as everything looks soooo good. When you have eaten enough you can no longer do your jeans button up, there is brewery’s under the arches around the market to try different bears and drinks. Make sure you take cash as a lot of the vendors don’t take card due to the signal being bad. If you forget don’t worry there is co-op a 5min walk away with a free cash machine. Opening times are Saturdays 10am - 5pm and Sunday’s 11am - 4pm.
