The Soda Can Design Challenge put students in the role of a real graphic designer. Students were ‘hired’ by a soda company to come up with a new soda flavor. They had to create 3 food icons and create a pattern with those icons that included at least 2 motifs (accents). Once their pattern was complete, they created a name for their soda and designed the front of the can. This was such a fun project and the students loved the creative freedom they were given! Soccer player or model..... Um......or both? Seriously, Annie was my little next door neighbor girl always playing soccer and being that tough girl that could keep up with the boys, if not beat them! She is a true gem and I just love who she is! I've really asked her to step out of her comfort zone modeling for TEAM MAP and its been fun to see her light up in front of the camera! Seriously stunning Anne! My model team is a group of girls that are down to earth that can go from no makeup, nothing fancy with their hair, playing soccer, having a job, going to school to having the confidence to get in front of the camera all glammed up! This shoot was so fun to see the girls under studio lights looking gorgeous! This was our first studio concept shoot as a team this year and to say the least it was a production, but seriously so fun! If your thinking about joining TEAM MAP, I guarantee you will have fun and make some new friends! 👉Challenge yourself..... Every shoot I do, I try to challenge myself to step out of my comfort zone and take a couple images in full sun! I used to always avoid bright hot direct sunlight, but over the years I have come to really love it! It's fun to see how the images turn out in post processing! Isn't this a cool direct sun image!? Want to know a secret? Growing up, I always wanted to get into modeling! I am a little embarrassed to say that honestly....because I am only 5'5" and most days in high school I never felt pretty enough 🤪....but I did go on to do some local runway modeling, I was a live window mannequin for the store vanity in the mall 🤪(that was hard having to stand still and people coming up trying to make you laugh 🤣....then I went on to do some modeling for a talent agency and got a few fun jobs! Okay, enough about me....my point is, part of my senior experience is to create an experience that feels like they just walked off the shoot for the cover of a magazine! And that anyone can model with the right direction, posing & coaching....and now days all models come in lots of different shapes and sizes. Now, all their images in their gallery don't look like this....we capture the fun and whimsical personality where their parents can remember them twirling in the grass when they were 6, or their full on belly laughs....I try to capture everything that is them, while also giving them some "model shots" And did you know that some of my seniors have went on to model! Let's talk location for a minute….. One of my goals for my seniors is to to give them a variety of looks and backdrops/ locations! You may see me posting lots of urban/ downtown looks on my feed lately and their is a reason! One because in my area we are flooded with images of nature, because well it’s so dang beautiful here! Now as much as I love the mountains and nature, I love to showcase a different side of Montana sometimes on my feed! But did you also know, almost all of my seniors get a nature/ Mountain View location too! Yup, depending on the senior experience they book and the amount of time they want to spend where.....we usually always start with buildings or downtown somewhere and then we work our way out to nature....trees, creeks, mountains etc. So my seniors are getting the fun experience of being on an urban magazine shoot and then they are ending with a very natural Montana setting with lots of twirling, dancing and very in the moment unposed feel! I will be highlighting some of those images soon, but to set myself apart and showcase what I offer, this is why I post a lot of my urban looking images first! Now with that being said, if you want to spend your whole session up in the mountains, on your family ranch or farm, with your horse or whatever your dream session is...I am all for that too! Ok yeah 2020 definitely wasn’t the best year ever. I think we can all agree on that. But good things still happened this year!
