Another shade of Orange added to my wall of amps. I’ve been after an AD140 for a long time just waiting for the right bargain to come into my life. Totally different beast to the Rockerverb. This has tonnes of headroom and is perfect for massive thick tones both clean and distorted. I’m gradually expanding the tone pallet and using my KHE amp switcher it’s so easy to audition different amps to find the right tone for the part. One kit. Two massively different sounds. We needed two completely different treatments for our drum tracks yesterday and we got what we wanted with different snare tunings and a bunch of tea towels. For two songs we needed a big open rock sound which we got using @chrisriversart Tama Star Classic toms, my Pearl Masters 24 kick and my Pearl 14x8 brass free floating snare completely open with no dampening. For the next song we needed super dead Ringo style splatty drums which we got by tuning the snare deeper and using tea towels on the shells taped on to get just the right amount of resonance.
