This past weekend was our getaway to Pittsburgh. This was mainly to celebrate the incredible achievement of Amy's doctoral graduation 🎓🎉👏🏼, but while there we were able to explore some great sights and food that the city has to offer. Our favorite adventures took us to the Children's Museum of Pittsburgh and the Pittsburgh Zoo and Aquarium. The kids got to do some arts and crafts 🎨, water play 💦, explore a little of Mister Rogers' Neighborhood 🐯, and learn through other science exhibits. If you have kids, you will not want to miss this attractions. We also spent time at the zoo and aquarium, which allowed us to see many animal species 🦁🦭🦒🐠🦈. I recently got to work with the "S" Family to plan a long weekend for Mom and Dad to visit Universal Orlando later this month. They will be staying club level for 4 nights at the Hard Rock Hotel and visiting all 3 parks with their new season pass! 🔦 Client Spotlight 🔦 I was so honored to work with the "S" family to book their recent Celebrity cruise. This former colleague and her husband sailed with friends on Celebrity Equinox in the Caribbean. They visited the ports of Cozumel, Grand Cayman, and Bimini. Some of their favorite parts were the after dinner entertainment in the theater, the silent disco party, and swimming and relaxing in the Solarium. At their ports of call, they observed green sea turtles in Grand Cayman, toured (and tasted) a Mexican tequila farm in Cozumel, and floated in the beautiful blue water at Resorts World Beach Club at Bimini. This was definitely a trip to remember and I'm sure they are already looking forward to their next traveling adventure. Our final Walt Disney World day. I realized that in all the fun and travel back home, I didn’t get pictures posted from our last day. I always encourage clients with kids to plan for 2 days at Magic Kingdom 🏰. There are so many things to do and so many favorite things to do again that it’s best to take the extra time. We started off with a slower morning. Breakfast was at the 🌺 Polynesian Village Resort. The kids love Disney World breakfast pizza and Tonga Toast is one of my favorites. We got on the 🚝 monorail (another favorite of mine) and headed to the resort for a quick service resort. After this we headed to the park and were surprised to find out that Halloween 🎃 had come. Some for the fall decorations were up in the park as they get ready for the start of the season and Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party a little later this month. I got a Lightning Lane for Tron Lightcycle Run 🏍️ and was glad I did. The newest attraction at Magic Kingdom was completely worth it! After some more rides, we headed back to the resort for a rest (another recommendation for families with younger kids). Another powerful thunderstorm ⛈️came through but was mostly gone by the time to head back. Brinley showed us her adventurous side by riding all the 🎢 coasters. She will definitely be my ride buddy. Her brother is still not sure about those rides but we bribed him to go on Big Thunder Mountain. His reply, “I don’t ever want to go on that again.” 😬 The night was capped off by watching Happily Ever After 🎆 at Cinderella Castle. Brinley quickly reminded us that we hadn’t watched The Enchanted Tiki Room 🦜 and we closed the park with the tiki birds. So much fun packed into a week. The kids kept telling us the whole way home that they didn’t want to leave. Today our fun happened at Epcot (or F-cot as Brigham calls it 😂) We started the day by talking the Skyliner 🚡 to the entrance at the International Gateway. This entrance is at the back of the park and allowed us to get in line early for 🐀 Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure. We were off of the ride at the time the park was supposed to open for resort guests. From there we headed to 🇳🇴 Norway to ride Frozen Ever After and meet Anna and Elsa. All of this was done before off-site guests could enter the park. Definitely a perk of staying onsite. We had a character breakfast at Garden Grill. We got to meet Mickey, Pluto, Chip, and Dale. I think these last two have become a new favorite since our experience at the resort yesterday. The breakfast skillet 🍳 offerings were delicious. Brigham at about half of a watermelon 🍉 but because it was all-you-care-to-eat the server just kept bringing more. The rest of the day was fill with more rides and characters plus exploring the Food and Wine Festival options. The fry flight 🍟 was a hit with all of us and we are glad they brought it back this year. We also tried a melted cheese 🧀 with ham and potatoes dish along with a chocolate 🍫 fondue dessert from The Alps. Some other good options were the charcuterie cup from Spain and sushi 🍣 from Japan. None of us came back to the room hungry. 🎉 Surprise! Tomorrow morning we are waking the kids up and telling them we are headed to Walt Disney World. So far we have been able to keep the secret with bags packed and preparing everything around the house to head on vacation. Besides the zoo and Legoland, this past weekend was filled with family time in the Poconos. We rented an Airbnb that fit 5 families with a total of 11 kids. There were games, arts & crafts, and time in the creek. The kids can’t wait for more cousin time.
