“Unsensored” (2024): LAZER TAG bootleg resin sensors – The old Lazer Tag toys were truly works of art: completely beautiful looking but not super fun to play with. Once you figured out you could hide the sensor by turning your body (or if you were a real cheater, covering with your hand) the game quickly descended into a spiral of screaming accusations and disappointment. But I never forgot how cool the sensor looked and wanted to reinterpret it using other familiar toy iconography. I have a couple pieces in the show — 2 special editions of existing figures: a leopard print Denise Nedrahausen (carded), and a wood turtle inspired edition of Riptide (wood turtles are an endangered species that can still be found in the Hudson Valley and are gorgeous). And 1 new figure in an edition of 3: The Gardener, Mr. Kneepants Samsmart, Kiwi'd.
