Thurs 9th May For those that don’t know we are heading back to our home town of Mandurah WA to do a 7 week house/cat & dog sit for a friend from 20th May. First we will go to Mindarie (tomorrow) to see our Jess and the rest of our family. 😃Who knows where the wind will blow us after that? On the road today at 9am. Topped up with fuel again! Through Southern Cross then stopped in Carrabin for yes more fuel! Onto Merredin for lunch and to see the Silo Art. Arrived in Northam at the free RV rest stop. 459kms today. Exhausted! Excited to see the family tomorrow 😃 8.5 days to travel from the ferry terminal at Geelong VIC to Mindarie WA and $1330 in diesel fuel!!! A VERY long and quick drive!

Wed 8th May Great sleep. Adrian joined us for coffee and breakfast before we said our goodbyes. On the road by 8am. Very foggy this morning. stopped in Balladonia for more fuel. Then across Fraser Range and into Norseman that’s the end of The Eyre Hwy, after 5 days. Just love that drive it’s awesome. Got more fuel in Norseman then headed for Coolgardie. Parked up at the RV rest area (free) 471kms today.

Tuesday 7th May Saw the sunrise again! Clocks have changed so on the road by 6.30am!!! By 8am we were at Border Village the Quarantine station for going into WA. We passed the test and David even got breathalysed! Next stop Madura Pass for more fuel. Seems a lot greener now. Came across 2 runners! Stopped for the night at Baxter Blowhole. Soo many flys! I cut David’s hair. 459kms today. David saw a cyclist come in and start putting his tent up. Over he went-“Do you need anything?” So, Adrian joined us in Keith. We gave him some homemade soup yogurt chocolate and a couple of beers. He had cycled 120km today! He started in Perth and is going via Melbourne and will finish in Brisbane - He is hoping to cycle around the world! In stages!! Lovely guy-from Uk and was born in Hitchin!!!! That’s where David was born! What are the odds????? After dinner Adrian freshned up in our bathroom. He was very appreciative. He was out of water too! So we filled all his bottles up.

Head of Bight
Mon 6th May 2024 Great sleep again. We actually saw the sunrise this morning! On the road by 8.30am. Stopped at Yalata for more fuel. We then arrived at the eastern end of the Nullarbor Plains (treeless). 12kms off the road we drove to Head of Bight. OMG! So glad we stopped. A boardwalk and lookout to The Bunda Cliffs was amazing. Shame it’s not Whale season. Came across a man on a bike! Then a couple on bikes! Middle of nowhere! Parked up for the night 56km from Boarder Village WA. On the cliffs-awesome. In the last picture you can see a fault line in the cliff that’s why we don’t park close to the edge but a lot do! By 5pm there were 10 other caravans/motorhomes parked up. Even the couple on bikes rode into camp. Got lots of veggies left (can’t take them across the border)so made a soup. 333Km today.
