In March 22, I launched @sisterhoodstoreuk as a way to do two things that I love - ⭐️Champion the work of women ⭐️Curate beautiful things I worked super hard and had an absolute BALL researching and meeting female creatives, pouring over stock lists and chatting through my ideas. I built a website, taught myself how to build/work an online shop (no easy feat) and launched on international women’s day 2022…. And then life got in the way. Kids, home renovations, work etc and so what was supposed to be a big move actually turned into...not very much. That’s just the way things go sometimes. I’ve talked a lot on here about my inability to do just one thing, I’ve always got a few things on the go and so as a result of that, sometimes the momentum can’t be sustained even if the passion is all there. I have a few plans to develop this idea next year but I’m also really excited to bring my little collection to this weekend’s festive market ⭐️🎄 One of the things I love the most about selling at my own market is the opportunity to experience markets from the seller perspective. It’s this insight that helps me tweak and grow and, hopefully make my markets a good experience for my vendors. I’m so excited about our weekend vendors. I’ve got some beautiful glassware, stationery and ceramic bits plus STUNNING Christmas decorations. My practise turns the inspiration found in fungi and forest floors into vivid fantasy landscapes. The brilliant @susiestoneltd will be exhibiting at the @havelockwalk #winterweekend in her @canvasandcreamse23 gallery space. Please do come along to meet her and see her fabulous work. Susie was born and raised in South London, then studied Fine Art at Leeds University receiving 1st Class Honours for her work in painting and sculpture. A love of fashion led her Into a career as an award-winning designer and couturier, opening her first atelier making bespoke clothes on Bermondsey Street in 2010. After seven years designing and making one-off luxury garments she moved into fashion illustration. The creative freedom of this process reignited Susie’s love of creating art and informs the content and style of her work today. Influenced by contemporary portraiture, fashion photography and female empowerment Susie’s work is a celebration of women, style and colour.
