I made this card right at the beginning of May for a penpal from @sweetnovemberstamps . Now that it's been delivered I thought I would share. Lived colouring in this image and as I had no stencils available I tried this swirl pattern using my palest blue and blue/green copics. Made a few mistakes but happy with the end result. I just finished colouring in this beautiful mermaid from @sweetnovemberstamps and scene but I am babysitting so no stuff to finish it off. Might have to wait as it's only 12 more sleeps till we move and I need to do lots of last minute stuff. It was my birthday yesterday and as I was still not 100% I cancelled my lunch with my brother's and told the kids not to visit. But I still got lots of phone calls and FaceTime, John went all out with French toast for breakfast and then he went shopping bought some hoods and made a massive amount of calamari in beer batter and salad. A cake to finish it off and my brother's sent me flowers. What more could I ask for. Ok finally the mermaid. She came free with the newsletter from @sweetnovemberstamps every month they do a newsletter and offer a different image free for a time. I coloured her in with copics. Then I made a mask and cover over them and then I cut a piece of cardstock with curves and used that to make different layers with different colours like the sea. I didn't stop to think before colouring her and her hair it could all look too dark but it's a lesson learnt. Hate having only bits and pieces around spend too much time thinking where is that..... Then I went to charge my laptop and can't find the charger oh where oh where can they be.... Another two cards using @maurie.j.manning this time it's basketball for the boys. Borrowed a brick wall stencil to finish it off. He looks like it's been a very energetic session I need to come in a bit more with my mid colour in copics so it looks like shadow but sweat will do for now. Good to get a couple of cards for males done. Another beautiful day too warm for Autumn but perfect for packing. The boxes are taking over the house which are causing some issues for Jake. Jake is 18 years old and rather blind and deaf. He is use to walking the same trail every day in the house and some out of place boxes have caused him to freeze in place till we helped him out. Four days ago he fell in the pool and luckily it had rained a bit and the pool was full so it was easier for him to get out. We didn't see it happen which was really scary so we have closed all the gates sadly restricting the other dogs but can't have that happen again. He shook in my arms for over an hour, so heartbreaking. He has recovered well and follows me everywhere now and goes in the bedroom and lays down waiting for me to go too bed at night after he has dinner. I have been colouring in some digital images I was able to print up as I had packed everything else. This is one of @maurie.j.manning 'Air guitar' . I coloured with copics. Then I went and visited a friend and borrowed her stencils for backgrounds, as I had accidentally packed the stencils I needed. Instead I had kept all the stencils that go with stamped or foiled flowers that I had packed which I had packed and I want going to start searching through the 200 plus boxes to find the other folder. Love how this stencil looks behind the boy and the sentiments I feel work with the images. Last photo is last time in the pool. Yesterday was just warm enough for a quick swim and perfect for a BBQ dinner. Another four weeks till we move. Wish it was now as we will be moving in on the first day of winter. Not great photos but at least they show the sparkle from the @distristellabrush wink of Stella brush. Stamped this butterfly which is my all-time favourite of the butterfly/ flower combinations. This one is from @thetonstamps and has been used lots. Stamped and heat embossed in gold on vellum then I keep to very very pale Apricot and green @kuretakezig_usa . Decided to cut it out as I managed to get stray colours here and there. Fussy cut and added to a card base I had first out through a 3D embossing folder. I was going to use a different embossed background but I discovered if I don't hold the cardstock down firmly when cutting I ruined the whole piece with chunks missing here and there. Finished off with this 'sweet wishes' die cut also from gold mirror cardstock. I love how that background works with this butterfly. P.S. We found a house with a flat attached and our offer was accepted. 12 week exchange so we don't have to panic pack. Looks amazing IRL that green a combination of the palest green as I was just going to do a wash then changed my mind and added green grass and it ended up so vibrant and with the red blends it just works perfectly. I just got this die Giant merry Christmas die from @uniquely.creative.kits and it cures like butter. Love it could have gone very CAS but I decided I needed to use more of my cut and coloured images. Caught some of the colour in these photos of this cardstock, it's just amazing. It's another shaker card, very simple. The shaker dome is just so easy to use and looks fabulous. Of course it means that area is more bulky but it does look brilliant. I die cut the circle from @prettypinkposh and did some colour blending with my oxides then used the snowflake stencil to add sparkle. I attached the inside of the circle to the card front, added a pile of sequins then added the dome. It has adhesive so that makes it easy to attach but I also glued down the outer scalloped edge that belonged to this circle so it secured it better. Added some die cut snowflakes in iridescent card stock and the 'Merry Christmas '. Christmas card I have used the penguins from a @mftstamps set. Added to a tag I blended distress oxide then a layer of clear Glitter embossing paste sentiment die cut #bobunnyglitterpaste . Put the close up first so you can see the sparkle better. And last photo is me at our local shopping centre this morning posting off all my Christmas cards and what do I spot. A reindeer!!!! How amazing is that I even got a pat but the photo is crap. That's what happens when strangers try to take a photo with your phone. And check out that lady that stood there and ruined a huge number of photos, talk about photo bombing😂😂😂 reindeer were not native to Australia, they were a gift from Queen Victoria back in the 1800s can't remember exactly and now I'm done areas there are thousands. I decided the flowers were too light so I'm colouring them more. Then I decided to keep on working on Christmas cards, couldn't resist using my little gnomes from @mamaelephant . I coloured mine so they look like Santa gnomes. I added little bits of Kindy Glitz here and there on them to add some sparkle. The two circular die cuts are from @prettypinkposh , after blending distress oxide on them I did a layer with my snowflakes stencil and used sparkle clear embossing paste. I added gold thread at the top to turn them into Christmas baubles. The die cut bow was a freebie from @scrapbookcom , very cute and just a sparkle gem for the smaller circle. Since the small circle opened I couldn't resist adding a gnome and hohoho inside. Finished all my Christmas cards so I'm having a floral break before I start on next year's. I also need a couple more birthday cards. But today I decided to colour this floral image from @studiokatia . I've now done a very light colouring and trying to decide if I liked it or whether I want to go in again and go one colour darker? Three cards this morning all with pattern paper. Two backgrounds use the pattern paper from @whimsystamps not sure if who I got the third one. The Bears are @mftstamps , I put the skater on as a wobbler. Check out the buckets of fish, with the fish jumping out of the water into the bucket. Die cut sentiments on all the cards. Just put together another two cards using the @mamaelephant die plate. On the first card I cut out a blue layer as well for the top, added the acetate but rather than so another shaker I added white Glitter cardstock onto the card base. I then decided to add these really cute miniature stamped images. They are from a set by @createasmilestamps and there are enough to go on both cards. On this first card I added them to the outside of the shaker shape. Kept my colouring very basic lots of green and red.A gold filled sentiment, all done. The second card I put the figures inside the domes and added tiny circular foam dots to the back of them so that once I added the top layer they would not move. It actually looks better IRL than the photo as I left the card white and didn't add any Glitter but looking at the photo it is too plain. Too difficult to pull it apart I think ........ Remember those shaker cards I made with that wonderful @mamaelephant die cut plate well by the time I finished I had lots and lots of little bauble cut outs. @laurafadora showed me how to use them and I have. Five cards totally Cased from her card. It's perfect, easy and uses up all those pieces. I got seven cards done and still have left overs. My cards are Laura's card, the only difference being I went with six baubles for most of them, I used gold thread, I added a blue and red to the original colours and I did not stamp sentiments, I used printed sentiments from @uniquely.creative.kits . Once I had added ink to ask the little baubles I was able to sit and babysit and put the cards together so quickly. Yesterday we celebrated Noah's 2nd birthday. I can't believe my youngest grandson is already two. Only a few more months till he leaves me and goes into day care. I will miss him so much. But there's always a chance there will be more😏 The card is a @mosdigitalpencil1 image. He has curly hair which Noah doesn't but the character makes me think of him. Coloured with copics and the scribble Copic background. Of course I didn't check if the letters would fit, I layered up the letters then when I went to attach realised they were a bit big but it was too late to worry. True colours are the first photo. After blending with distress ink I then used a snow flake stencil and added gold. Four layers of cardstock and a layer of foam tape and the acetate. A heat foil sentiment. This plate is a @mamaelephant new this year and I can see myself having a good play with it. Inspired by @laurafadora but unlike Laura I was a bit too heavy handed with the colour that's why I added the gold sparkle. I couldn't resist doing another emu Christmas. Now I need to stamp and colour another hundred or so for next year's cards. But for now this is the last of my mystical blue emus. Colour blended this background as it's a favourite. Added my emus with dimensional tape to lift the two front ones. Added kindy Glitz twice to the antlers as I forgot they were wet and smeared them doing something else. Quick clean up and added more, then went thru my sentiments for the Aussie ones . Ok this card is made with a tag die cut that has some pink distress oxide blended on it, then some splats of water. Once dry I have added snowflakes with a stencil and clear Glitter paste @mybobunny I attached the tag to the card then added these sweet little mice getting reading for Christmas. Sorry I coloured them last year and can't remember what set they are from. Can find out if anyone really wants to know. Today I am experimenting with a new light box from @wer_makers and I think I'm very impressed with the box and accessories. Luckily I saw it on sale as it's not a cheap one but it is worth it. Better off course for one photo not six as I was trying to get a photo of today. So not perfect photos but much better, no holding the phone, I can also make videos using this and great light. The cards you may remember I did a couple last year. So very easy. I cut out six mini slim line bases. Blended colours on the front, so easy with that grip mat, the only making I need was to stop myself marking the back of the card. I did three with pink, lilac and yellow and three with pink orange and yellow. Die cut the scene six times from Glitter cardstock. Was quite thick cardstock but this die cuts through it perfectly. I decided to add some double sided tape to the back to lift it up from the card a bit but after doing all of them I found some I had cut the top strip too thin and the double sided tape kept peeking out and warping the line. Still with me????? I hide it by adding sentiment stripes I had. Small but very cool cards. Now it's time for another summer Santa this time from @paperrosestudio . Isn't he super cool. I changed his glasses to sunnies, have his belly a nice little tan. After I coloured him in I decided to add a scene so made a mask, then used a @erinleecreative sunset and palm tree stencil. Then I masked this off and added some sand and a little shadow. Finished off with a little bit of blue distress ink around the outer edges. How quick and easy was this card. This is another card using a paper serviette out through the laminator in a laminating pouch. This is one I put the pretty part facing in so the laminate is on the back. I adhered to a card base 5 X 5.25" then for a bit of fun I added three of those cute reindeer I had used before. Reindeer from @gerdasteinerdesigns love their cheeky faces. Coloured with copics. Sentiment on the serviette adds all the sparkle needed. I added clear Glitter to the white parts. Attached to a pattern paper that looks nice and Christmassy and a Christmas sentiment. Nice and quick. The fourth page is another elf in green Glitter cardstock and black plain. Today's post I got a bit carried away with this card. But much to be one I do in larger numbers just because of the amount of die cutting and putting together all those itty bitty pieces. Glue all over the place, bits missing. I tell you when I watch videos of people designing cards and so easily flying all those pieces I wonder if I have ultra clumsy hands cause I glue things to me, each other and furniture. Now back to my card. I saw one using these elves where they had them both in shadow but I started my card and was convinced the main one was colour clothes so that's what I did. Soooo my card is similar but different. I used papers from a @whimsystamps Christmas paper pad adding a chimney from one onto a blue background, a bit of white Glitter paper for the snow. I die cut the elves and presents from @tim_holtz Santa's Little helpers set. I cut in plain card stock and glittery card stock. One elf is helping the other elf send the presents down the chimney. I just realised I forgot to share Mason's card for his birthday. Turning 9 and I don't have any pokémon stamps so I decided to go with this cool image from @mosdigitalpencil1 , coloured him with bright colours and love the sentiment. I then made a mask for the colours image and used a stencil I have. Love these optical illusion stencils.
