Only 5 books this month but close to finishing 2 books (probably this week). Then I have to read a bunch if books for Children’s Literature course(40 in 10 weeks!) so will have to (maybe) take a break from my TBR list. I can not stress how much I love this kid’s perseverance. This sport is HARD! Not just physically, but mentally. Coming back from injury and continuing to try to believe in yourself when you lost so much momentum. Trying to navigate JROTC, AP and Dual classes, 25 hrs in the gym per week, getting sick often, and picking back up every week to keep trying. I don’t know where she gets it from because this was not me in high school and it wasn’t her dad either. Gymnastics has taught her soooo much and she loves it even when it is kicking her down. I pray daily for her. This weekend was fun to get out of town and just do something different. I love spending time with her. Next meet is in 2 weeks and we’ll keep on keeping on. #gwinnstagram

The awe I have for these girls…they train hours on end, while maintaining grades, friends, family obligations, etc. They battle anxiety, fear, self doubt, sore bodies, sickness, and more, because they love the sport. We went to Colleen’s first meet in over a year and a half for her to compete one event. She was terrified to compete again. She’s been struggling since December with breathing after being sick. She did not finish her routine but what she did, she did well. And now she remembers that competing isn’t so scary. Always moving forward. #gwinnstagram
