A BIG day for our Arlo. Thank you for all your prayers & messages. Today we had a hospital appointment at Great Ormond Street (GOSH). It’s been a year in the making following a vacant seizure he had last spring while reading a Peppa Pig book at nursery… the neurology appointment that followed this in the Autumn ended with a referral to GOSH due to concerns he would likely need surgery on his skull due to a ridge he has at the front that may limit brain growth/development. Today we found out he doesn’t need this surgery! Praise the Lord! But next steps are underway as the GOSH team today were concerned by the few oddities he’s had over his life - random vacant seizures (his second when he broke his arm at Christmas), blindness for the first 4 months of his life etc. The next step is a second MRI on his brain (he had his first one at 3 months old) - this will be under general anaesthetic as 2 year olds have no idea how to stay still! So thankful for our incredible NHS & blown away by the attention, time, empathy and playfulness the staff at GOSH showed us today; honestly the loveliest of doctors! The way every member of staff bent down to Arlo’s level to playfully engage with him before talking with us was just the sweetest most kindest way to help him (and us) feel so welcomed, relaxed & cared for! Whilst down in London Ben and I took advantage of Arlo’s nap & grabbed a late lunch date together, we explored a garden in the sky (we’d recommend a visit to Garden@120), let Arlo run around ‘Andy’s Dinosaur Adventure’ world (the Natural History Museum) where he was absolutely sky high excited to find Andy’s clock “Where Andy? He’s gone to see the dinosaurs!” He’d ask & then reply to himself on repeat as he looked & waited eagerly at the clock for Andy to appear through it! We ended the day absolutely soaked (what a rainy day!) as I made the boys join me on a trip to see some of the Chelsea Flower Show displays the shops have put on; check them out 🌸 HUGE thanks to Papa for taking and collecting Lila & Hudson from school and attempting to get them to sleep - they were wide awake, wired & with many concerned questions for their little brother when we got home!

HOT TAKE🔥 why you shouldn’t go to Sky Garden and where to go instead 🇬🇧 Sky Garden is a popular tourist destination where you can get 360-degree panoramic views of all of London. It’s London’s highest public garden which might make you think that this is the best place to catch a glimpse of the city. But it’s not. While tickets to go in are free, you have to make sure you get these at least a few weeks in advance. When you show up for your time slot, you still have to wait in a pretty long queue to go through security and take one of two elevators up to the top floor. It’ll most likely be very crowded and hard to walk through. Even though I did enjoy the indoor garden concept, the views aren’t really that great because it feels like you’re stuck in a glass box. And you also have to wait in an even greater queue to go back down again😮💨 So what should you do instead if you still want to get incredible views of the city? Visit 📍Garden at 120! It’s also free to get in, there’s no need to book anything in advance, and the lines are much shorter! You’ll still have to go through security and take an elevator ride up, but when you reach the top it’s absolutely beautiful. I visited my favourite roof garden yesterday. There was a chill in the air, but the sun popped out a few times, and the colours of the gorgeous flowers made me forget about the cold. I love that in the heart of the City of London there's such a tranquil place where humans as well as insects are welcome. They even have bee hotels there👌 Now is the time to go there for the wisteria! The garden is free to visit and no prebooking is required 🌿💜🐝

It gives views of the iconic Shard and the Walkie Talkie (where you can find the Sky Garden - another free rooftop space as an alternative to The Shard - the Sky Garden also offers the height). You don’t have to book in advance to visit The Garden at 120 - just arrive at the building and join the queue! It only took us about 10 minutes to get in on a Saturday afternoon.
