Plumeria. About 3 years ago I planted a plumeria tree from a cutting and today it has become quite a sizeable tree. It was my first time planting a tree from a cutting successfully, giving me unspeakable joy. After trimming the tree recently, I took some of the trimmed cuttings and squeezed them all into a pot without much thought. To my great delight an inflorescence of yellow flowers quietly appeared from one of the cuttings! Rangoon Creepers. This is my 1500th post and subconsciously I have been thinking about this photo that I took a couple of days ago. I first learnt about this lovely creeper in year 2020. A special friend had taken a photo of her Rangoon Creepers and sent me an encouraging Mother’s Day greeting that year. Over the years, though the nature of our relationship has evolved, she continues to be patient with me, always encouraging and loving when we interact. Water Lily. This flower signifies the beautiful friendship in my life. I got to visit an amazing water lily garden early this week. It was sweltering hot but I had an umbrella to shield the blooms from the harsh sun when I took photos. For a moment I could forget the deep pain in my heart and focus on finding my frames of little things, being surrounded by people who were genuinely kind to me despite not knowing me well. Truth be told, I had very low expectations of how the photos would turn out. Holding the umbrella with one hand meant that I could only handle my big camera with one hand. I used to be adamant about using a tripod but now I had to hand hold my camera with one hand and snap away. However, when I downloaded the photos to my computer, I was so happy to see that they actually turned out quite alright. I am so glad I persisted when I didn’t feel like it. This week I am truly thankful for friends who let me know that… I am worthy of love and I am loved. I am a joy to be around. I am not alone. I am important. I am respected. I am heard. I am understood. I am cherished.
