Jumborocks! This Campground in the Joshuatree National Park is the happiest ever. The rocks are like big friendly elephants, inviting you to climb around on them. We felt like children on a huge adventure playground and couldn't get enough. Yesterday we walked the Narrows in Zion National Park, a hike in a deep cut between beautiful mountains that leads you first next to the Virgin River and later IN the river. So much fun, but very strenuous since you either focus on your feet - the water is relatively strong and muddy and full of big rocks - or the beauty above you. This trip through the west of the United States has been intense in all sorts of ways. Every day brings new wonders, new adventures, new amazements. It's also extremely tight-knit - six weeks is actually short, there is so much to see! - there is very little room for sitting and dawdling, not to mention doodleing, so the little sketches here and there are done in a rush and more for myself than anyone else and actually "showable" stuff just wouldn't come, my output was/is blocked. I've been travelling the US since the 3rd of July (still 12 more days to go) and it has been an incredible experience. Everyone we've met or stayed with or just had a road - or river, ocean, forest - side chat with, has been incredibly nice to us. We have seen unbelievable heights, vastness, depths, huge amounts of water, wildlife and beauty. From Bears to Geysirs, Whales to gorges, Elk to waterfall. I've fallen in love with every single riverpebble and every chipmunk - hundreds of them. We've experienced heat, like I have never felt before, seen huge waterfalls, heard the deep silence of the Redwood forest and the crashing of the Pacific's waves. Before I planned my trip to Slovenia there was only one place on my bucket list: The medieval Predjama Castle. Its design is unique as it was built into a large natural cave. Not exactly a comfy place for living, but definitely a great defense system.

(Presstrip) The western coast of Saaremaa has kilometer long unexplored beaches. While mid of October is definitely not the season for swimming, endless strolls along the shoreline are still highly recommended.

Posing next to an islandic horse is definitely more comfortable than actually riding it. Nonetheless, the winter wonderland around Koli National Park is breath taking. Whoever can sit on a horse more than 5 Minutes without getting a cramp in his/her legs should try this experience.
More than just refreshing: swimming in ice water. Not exactly my thing as my comfort level usually starts with 30 degree warm water. But nonetheless a worthwhile experience.
