This is a personal deck tech for a deck I've wanted to build ever since I started playing magic back in the day. Not specifically with this commander, but the concept in general. I've always been intrigued by a deck that is only as strong as it's opponents decks. So here it is. Helmed by Lazav, Dimir Mastermind, this one is called "Mirror World". The strategy is to mill the ever-loving heck out of my opponents decks, and recur or copy the best stuff they have in their graveyards. I decided on clones rather than straight up theft spells because well, I already have dirty old mean decks that do that. Paired up with a decent package of card draw, removal, and the only ramp Dimir can offer, it holds up in most games but falls flat against tribal/typal decks. The mana base needs a bit of an upgrade and it could use more artifact ramp but honestly, it plays just fine "as is". Here is another fun deck tech for one of my personal favorite decks Atraxa, Grand Unifier that I call "Blink/Pod". The deck is mainly centered around enter the battlefield effects. Ways to blink ETB creatures, double their triggers, and/or sac them to things like Birthing Pod or Prime Speaker Vannifar to tutor for answers or value engines. It's very much a "toolbox" type of build and super fun to play. Not really competitive, but can definitely out-value a whole table. This is my personal Commander deck tech for Rowan, Scion of War. It's almost a Demon Tribal build, but there are definitely a few other creature types that work with my main plan packed in there. Speaking of my main plan, here it is. The general idea behind this deck is to gain value by losing life. With that life loss I can draw cards, remove pesky targets, deal damage, recur from the GY, and use Rowan's ability to cast huge x spells and drop some gnarly 6/6 flying demons. I have a decent life gain package to get the life I've lost back. This deck can have some huge turns and requires a bit of practice to navigate. This is my Francisco & Malcolm cEDH list and it’s jam packed full of interaction. It’s got two main ways to win because I think having a backup strategy is always worthwhile. • Main line: Agatha’s Soul Cauldron + Walking Ballista in the Graveyard + Francisco on the battlefield = infinite damage to kill all your opponents • Back up strategy: Demonic Consultation + Thassa’s Oracle • I know the last deck tech had a lot of replacement card names and arts so hopefully this one is a bit easier on the eyes for y’all! Nekusar’s Wheels & No Deals - High Powered EDH Deck Tech • Happy Friday everyone! I got a sweet Nekusar deck tech to show off today, with Malenia, Goddess of Rot as a proxy for Nekusar! If you know me, you know I’m a huge fan of the Souls series as well as Elden Ring so finding a ton of Dark Souls or Elden Ring arts really brought some flavor to this deck for me. Strategy is simple, ramp to get Nekusar out and then start wheeling and doing no deals because this is the opposite of a politics deck 😂 I’ve been enjoying Grixis but getting this whole deck proxies was much cheaper than trying to put it together with real cards! 🔥 Tournament Winnings! 🔥 TLDR; I won 2 tournaments hosted by @nicplz_ and here's what I got! Last November @nicplz_ held a super cool tournament where you could partner any mono color legendary with another mono color legendary and with a $250 budget, build a deck around it. Well I chose to give the speed goat Godo the color he should never be allowed to have, black and took down the tournament! In the last round of that tournament I had exact mana for Treasonous Ogre and a Cabal Therapy. Everyone was tapped out except for one player. His only removal options were Path or Swords. I cast the Therapy targeting him. No responses and I called the Swords out of his hand, cast Ogre and won the final match! Core memory unlocked! This month @nicplz_ hosted ANOTHER amazing tournament this time showcasing pauper EDH. I put together Erinis Gloom Stalker with Street Urchin, a gruul control list capable of gunning down any creatures that hit the board. With a huge struggle I ended up wrestling my way into the final round. After both combo players were pushed out, I was able to control the rest of the game and take the win yet again! This prize is unbelievably cool. The shirt is amazing, the tokens are cute as heck and this playmat is on a totally different level of quality. Including the cards that I mainly used to win the first tournament was a chef's kiss to flavor and made this prize feel very personal 💚 Huge shout out to @jankmats for the incredible work they did on this collab with @nicplz_. There isn't a single missing stitch and the quality feels as premium as a product can be! MASSIVE thank you to @nicplz_ for hosting these tournaments! Vial Smakashima - Clones Galore! / High Powered EDH Deck Tech • After months of buying cards, finding new tech, trading and redoing the Moxfield list multiple times - I am proud to show the first list of my Vial Smasher the Fierce x Sakashima of a Thousand Faces EDH deck tech! Here we go: • STRATEGY: Cast Vial Smasher the Fierce and create a clone of him and pass the turn, then start dealing big damage to people after you’ve ramped and create more clones every turn if you draw into them. The chaos will keep the game moving fast but will draw ire to you as the player, that’s why we clone Vial Smasher in case he does die 😎, if you can get Roaming Throne or Fiery Emancipation / City on Fire into play then that should be game. I included Expropriate and Time Warp to give the pilot more plays if you’re close to closing the game out with damage. And that’s pretty much it! • BACKUP STRATEGY: Bolas Citadel + Sensei’s Divining Top + Gray Merchant of Asphodel = cast stuff from the top of your library and gain life, make clones of Gary (Gray Merchant of Asphodel) and mass drain the board. 💚🖤 Chatterfang 🖤💚 For about 8 years I have been collecting NM copies of ODY Chatter of the Squirrel. Last week the legendary @bloewen49 finished this project by surprising me with the remaining 40 I needed to finish my project. When I started collecting these I always thought I would have to make some jank commander to back to support the squirrel deck I wanted to make. Since then we got Arconelia who was the commander for a bit but I always had to rule zero her since she's an "Un" card. Then we were blessed with Chatterfang and a TON of support for squirrels. Chatterfang is now complete and fully backed by 99 NM nonfoil Chatter of the Squirrel. The deck is MASSIVE since each sleeve has a perfect fit and 2 card in it. DECK TECH TIIIIIIIIME!! . . Obeka Brute Chronologist aka Bae… this bad ass Urge Wizard is one of my favorite commanders EVER. Basically he ability is simple…. Tap her and you may end that active players turn. Now ending a turn can hurt a player and chances are they well say no when you ask them BUT ending your turn…. Oh that’s where the magic happens. Basically I play a bunch of effects and creatures that have juicy ETBs and bad downsides at the end of the turn and when the triggers come to the stack… tap Beky and you can benefit from them. For example one of my favorite things to do is play or activate a sneak attack and get a bomb in my hand to the field with haste. They’ll get their EBTs and attack triggers and when the end of the turn triggers happen you end that turn, keeping all the creatures you cheated out. Now cheating creatures can be fun but this deck really shines when it comes to the combos that can manipulate the stack to your favor. For example my favorite combo: Hive Mind and Last Chance. Have Hive Mind out and when a player plays an instant of sorcery we’ll all get a copy. The ruling goes that’s forest one is is last one out. So you play a last chance and your opponents get a extra turn but at the end they lose the game. So the table takes their turns and if they can’t stop it then they lose making your turn last making you the winner. Yeah I loooove my Beky deck and always keep it and will always upgrade it when needed. Super fun and super fun to politic with and abuse that stack. 💀 Braids Cabal Minion 💀 One of my all time favorite magic cards. Banned in commander for good reason! Getting her out on turn one or two sets you up to pull far ahead of your opponents, especially if they have to sacrifice lands that early. Her effect looks symmetrical but it's really not. You get to decide if the table keeps sacrificing things or not. You can "turn it off" with her own ability, sending her to the command zone and casting her later. She pairs incredibly well with some other Stax pieces like Smokestack, Tanglewire and Storage Matrix making it a slug fest for your opponents. Contamination fits with the creature package she wants For creatures she likes anything that can easily recur or makes a lot of tokens. Main few are Bloodghast, Gravecrawler, Endrek Sahr and the classic Reassembling Skeleton! While I don't think we will see an unbanning of this card, it will always have a special place in my heart. I picked up this copy while visiting Tokyo, Japan as a souvenir and it's very special because of that. Do you have a "souvenir" card? 🎴 Lands Matter 🎴 ✅ Wincons ✅ At its core this is definitely a lands matter deck, but these are the ones that matter the most. Swipe for an honorable mention! Do I ever need new sleeves for this deck! The main game plan is to get a Valakut the Molten Pinnacle then copy it once or twice with Vesuva or Thespian Stage. If we have Prismatic Omen, Dryad of the Ilysian Grove or Realmwright (naming mountain) out, we get lots and lots of lightning bolts to toss around. Scapeshift with one of the 3 mentioned above on the battlefield can find us Valakut + Vesuva for a huge amount of damage all at once. You need to have at least 6 lands to have Valakut trigger. All your lands are mountains at this point so Valakut sees all the lands entering as mountains at the same time! A similar trick works with Field of the Dead. Also, for some reason, not a legendary land so we can copy it a bunch to get a ton of zombies. This deck has been a passion project of mine over the past couple months after being invited to play on a budget EDH stream. This is my budget Tymna Thrasios deck! The commanders are not included in the price but the cheapest versions of all the cards in the 98 run about $49. The basic plan of the deck is to ramp, play creature anthems, and close out games with Notorious Throng. There's lots of synergy between the ramp and anthem effects for the creatures with a slight Rogue sub theme. Hello everyone, today something not too you for you : Yuriko deck. It is a deck that is mostly focused on winning, but with a few fun cards that I put in just for the fun of it. Its main objective is to be fast as possible: draw at least 2 lands and one unblockable creature. By turn turn Yuriko should have already attacked and dealt some damage or should have already flipped a card, if you found a land. Ok, Ok - it's been a while since I really posted commander related content, ... I'll try to get back to it in the next weeks. Can't promise, but here's some game report from yesterday night. I'd say the general power level of decks went from Xyris and Gitrog somewhere around 7.5 down to Alela and maybe the Kykar and Gareth all rather being at a 5.5 ... With the rest somewhere in between. First game I had a huuuge start after the Gitrog jump-started me with a Rites of Florishing - picture #2 showed my board on turn 5 with 10 lands incl. one Karoo (1st Turn, Search for Tomorrow, 2nd Turn Khalni Expedition, 3rd turn: Felidar Retreat into two landrops and never really looking back from there...) My board was whipped three or four times (Chain Reaction, Living Death, Lavalanche,...), but the most devastating card was the Constant Mist the Gitrog found. Windgrace and Kedriss just didn't have the Mana to compete and ultimately with a Burgeoning, a Sakashima to copy Omnath and the Karoo I was able to kill everyone infamously with roughly 16-24 damage to their faces per turn cycle... Second game I played Codie and I must say: I'm really loving the deck. Almost no staples (apart from the green land ramp spells), this deck is really fun (not necessarily strong) to navigate... Unfortunately Kedriss had a really fast start and threatened to deal 20+ damage to out all faces early and I had to Rite of Undoing my Codie to bounce the pesky Lizard. Gitrog was untouched this time and by the time I had found mana to Ruinous Ultimatum he was able to two shot us with Jarad, Golgari Lich Lord saccing first an Ob Nixilis and then on the next turn a Lord of Extinction for more than 20 per piece. Zirda Landfall 🦊☀️⛰️ The idea of the Deck is to get a lot of Landfall triggers and use whites ability to get lands on the field when an opponent has more. Thats why there are so many sacrificeable Lands. There are a lot of utility Lands aswell, those work well with Zirdas ability. Its nice to play an Archetype in Colours that is not supposed to play them. #zirdathedawnwaker

Task #1 completed. Before actually turning to my new decks I've gone through my current decks and pondered about what I'll do with them. I opted to keep these 14 decks (and Omnath, Locus of Creation, who I felt didn't need any tuning). So, each of these decks got roughly 5-8 new cards to play with. Honestly: Mostly more ramp of all sorts 😃 I benched Lord Windgrace which I'll rebuild to a higher power level . I also benched my WURB Treaures, because I felt Breya or any of the partner commanders ain't really what I'm aiming for an the Friends Forever (Lucas and Will) ain't available for me yet. I disbanded "The Mimeoplasm", who's about to resurrect as "Rayami" I'll be posting about my now 20 decks over the course of the next month, starting with the new one's as of Friday. But this comes in very cheap (Mana and budget), can deal with all sorts of stuff, is something that fits into "bob's least underplayed tribals", meaning as a human it does also fit in just for that matter. I'm aware it's not a very difficult choice this time around, still - being true to the format - I'm not faking hands, so these are the three hands we're looking at this time. Thoughts? As for the context, obviously we're again not looking at a super tuned deck but rather a (mostly) Human Tribal with some awesome supports like the moth or a Molder Slug... Yeah, we're only ramping dorks and "true" land ramp, no rocks to be expected... Powerlevel maybe a 6, maybe a 5, hard to say. Thursday night is Game Night... We where six players total and given the venue had a round table for us we decided to go 3 and 3 instead of 4 and duels. That said, i find myself in a Mardu only pod with my Humans facing off against a Tajic Boros (I'll one shot you commander) and a Anje value engine deck... Speaking of value, I'm able to drop a turn 1 Esper Sentinel into a turn two signet, followed up by another turn three signet into Lilly, Heretical Healer. Tajic having played a Fellwar Stone and a Mana Vault brings in Tajic with a second creature to support his cause and Anje drops... Anje... My turn 4 is evil as I'm able to play Plaguecrafter, sacking him to himself, flipping Lilly and directly reanimating the Plaguecrafter turning off Tajic (at that point, he's ranting a bit, but hey... Value :) ) - on the second sac I betray my created Zombie... and still have mana to cast Tynma and go pinch someone with the Sentinel... Not looking back at all, I do get a T6 Palace Jailer (again fisting Tajic) and a Vanisher's Banner and tutor for an Anguished Unmaking in Turn 7 as Tajic will take a third attempt to kill me in his turn 8. Long story short: He doesn't. Anje does manage to exile my whole armada, but at that point it's already too late and a Bruse on Swifties seals the deal for me. Game #2: I keep a risky 2 land hand as I have a Wheel of Fate and a gamble. Not finding a land in the first two drops I suspend the wheel. T3 I get lucky finding land #3, dropping it, gamble for a Scroll Rack as I definitely need to safe my "All is dust" against those pesky enchantments both Temur&Chatterfang are playing. I opt for Defense Grid over the Scroll Rack to bate out some removal... Just before my Turn 5, with the wheel about to go off (T6) - and Temur having a winning combo just waiting to make billions of tokens in my end of turn, I convince the squirrels to attack my Solemn, top deck a Rolling Earthquake, get super greedy not killing a lot of creatures of the Chatterfang gang (Leyline of Vitality on the board) to ensure dropping Scroll Rack... Hitting Sol Ring with the wheel, All is dust... GG Game 3: I get Cathars' Crusade, nobody has answers... Me 3,World 0

Hey everybody got another deck update today for Pony Pod. We've trimmed the fat, upped the meta staples, and gotta be honest I'm very happy with the results. THE GAMEPLAN So we added the Hermit Druid/Dread Return line for Thoracle. I've thought about adding Narcomoeba to make it a little easier but I'm not a fan of adding a card that's generally so bad. Our other main line is making infinite mana with Derevi+Emiel and a 4+ mana producing card (or with Training Grounds even Sol Ring allows us to go infinite) and then pump the mana into outlets like Thrasios for card draw or Shalai for infinite damage THE CHANGES We've gone down some of the more expendable cards like my favorite girl Grim Hireling. We've gone back up on Vannifar as another pod engine and added Paladin Class as a flex slot. So far I've really liked it as a piece that works on multiple axes. Vorinclex, Monstrous Raider EDH Deck Tech • This deck always brings salt to the table, no matter who’s in the pod. Vorinclex is essentially doubling season on a stick and completely stops other people from using counters altogether. This deck was a blast though and I had some sweet wins with commander damage! Turns out putting Trample and Haste on a commander is pretty good. Anyways here’s the strategy; • Strategy: > Ramp as fast as possible, cast Forgotten Ancient or Mana Gorger Hydra early game, ramp some more, cast Vorinclex and make him big with Hydra’s Growth then swing out at someone. > Backup strategy is to ramp up to Vorinclex, cast the green walkers and ultimate them immediately, use their emblems to search for creatures and buff the table then swing wide. • • Overall this deck was a blast but it’s hit a wall with my friends and has been taken apart for a new deck. How I approach making a new Commander deck. Ok, let's shortly start just before starting with the deck itself. January is my "Deck building month". I will bench roughly 2-3 of my existing decks. Refurbish the other existing ones and look to extend my color wheel. Rule #1 - Each color combination only once. Rule #2 - I'm trying to break every color combination outside the obvious. Rule #3 - Rather than building cEDH I want to avoid stables as much as possible. If my deck can make me happy for achieving something that isn't necessarily winning: Awesome 😎 Powerrating: 5-7 for an awkward Boros is fine. Budget is set to an amount that i will have to distribute over all decks I'm going to end up building. If there's a collector card or two - I'll be willing to pay that outside the regular basis... 1) So, ever since Strixhaven came out my GoTo Boros Commander moved away from Sunspeaker (which would have been awesome as well), towards the most fun Lox... Uhm... Elephant in 2021. 2) Next on this list is figuring what keywords actually go with the theme, trying to make use of mostly everything a bit rather than focusing on something specific. scryfall is my go to tool. Also going through my own card piles ... 3) Next I'm nowadays assembling the deck on deckstats.net - but moxfield, etc will do as well. Obviously you want Ramp (10+ sources), Draw, Spotremoval, etc... 4) what I like on Deckstats is also the Maybe Board, which let's me keep track of all the cards that got cut outside the 100. And for the already existing decks I can use the notes to keep track of desired changes. 5) I then check against edhrec to see if i missed any obvious cards that i didn't find via step 2) I limit myself to getting max 8-12 playables from here... I see myself as a Rogue Builder, playing my own ideas rather than netddecking. 6) I have a list per Commander on cardmarket with the cards I want to buy. Thoughts?
