Susanne Rheinstein, a true light ✨💫 in this world, and certainly a shinning star 🌟 in the Design World, has died today. This is difficult to imagine. She had just created this wonderful oasis for herself in Montecito, and very recently just launched her latest design book: Welcoming Elegance. 📕 She and her husband Fred, such a gentleman, invited Andy and me to a party that Hutton Wilkinson hosted at Tony Duquette’s home, Dawnridge, in Beverly Hills several years ago. What’s extraordinary is that we really didn’t know her. I’d long loved her design work and her shop, “Hollyhock,” and we were staying at our dear friend’s home in Hancock Park. He had the most marvelous Tony Duquette chandelier in his Paul Williams home. While speaking in Hollyhock, she invited us to accompany she and Fred to the party. She was gracious and lovely, and her eye so perfect. I saw her again years later at one of my friend Julia Reed’s get togethers in New Orleans. Both women that understood Southern flair, style and genuine hospitality. My sincere condolences to her daughter krbrodsky and family. What a treasure she was!
