Crafting is not about being perfect. It's about enjoying the process Today, we went to @diventiboutique for their scrapbook workshop where Lilah and I had some photos to add to a scrapbook! The kids had the best time looking at all the fish and then playing in the park! We finished our day at the arcade on seafront and then paddling in the sea, which was freezing, by the way! Weymouth is definitely a place to visit this summer, we can't wait to go to the splash park in the sealife and then go for a paddle when the sea is warmer! Ad| 🐵 NEW MONKEY FOREST at @zslwhipsnadezoo What a day we had, embarking on a wild adventure at Whipsnade Zoo’s new Monkey Forest habitat! 😍It was a cool experience, immersing ourselves on a journey through the lush forests of Southeast Asia. Nazareth’s favourite animal are monkeys so he was really in his element and was in awe, bless him 🥹 We saw super cute Francois Langurs and Sulawesi crested macaques, which was fun seeing them while journeying through the expansive 11,500m2 habitat, equivalent to 44 tennis courts 😮 👌🏾 There’s also an outdoor play area, interactive play as well for the kids in this section , not to mention there’s lots to do and see around the zoo! We spent the rest of our day exploring the whole zoo and went to the softplay area to end the day. If you’re visiting soon, don’t miss the Zoonormous Egg Hunt for a chance to crack the code and discover the golden egg, earning a delicious reward. 𝐌𝐮𝐦𝐦𝐲, 𝐂𝐚𝐧 𝐈 𝐇𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐀 𝐏𝐨𝐧𝐲 Lilah and Neve had the best time at @severnvale_equestrian today for their fun day! The girls learnt how to look after a horse and groom them and then got the opportunity to take part in gymkhana games! Lilah has now got the horseriding bug, so I will be on the lookout for some local lessons, and I have got the bug too as I used to ride and have horses as a teenager! Lilah did her first bouncy bouncy (trot) and sat like an absolute champ! She even rode no handed! 🐝 Another day another soft play! On the weekend we spent an hour at Bee Wild Children’s Soft Play Area at @hollybushgardencentre. It’s a small soft play, aimed more for children under 8. Session lengths are an hour long (which is definitely enough for the size of the equipment) and is £3.50 per child for the hour. Although if you wanted to spend longer there, you can book an extra hour. Elijah enjoyed it as it wasn’t so big or busy being a smaller soft play area. There’s a lovely little baby and toddler area too (first photo). *** Little Red Riding Hood *** ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ ᴀᴅ| @customshousesouthshields always do pantomime brilliantly but somehow they have managed to outdo themselves with this year’s Easter Panto… “Little Red Riding Hood” With a faultless cast, fantastic costumes, catchy songs and a great storyline, it is worthy of 5 stars. The writing is spot on, with a twist on the traditional tale of Little Red they have cleverly incorporated The Three Little Pigs into the story, making it a whimsical mashup. Every member of the cast deserves a shout out, as they all played their character so well. The beautiful @bethellis__ as the lead “Red Riding Hood” was just brilliant showing Red’s determination and absolutely smashing those big musical numbers with her amazing vocals. @thetomwhalley as Granny Hood was hilarious and had me creased throughout, playing an old lady so well. The facial expressions deserve an applause on their own Cousin Dennis, aka @glentownsend2 is owning the stage and is growing every show we see… showing exactly why he is one of South Shields favourites. The Three Little Pigs named after sausages Bratwurst, Chorizo and Saveloy were hilarious and excellent acting. @lucyed1 being my favourite as she showcased she is a girl of many talents. The prince played by @suryanhadrick was perfectly cheesy as you expect from a Panto prince but was funny with it. Dale Jewitt as Wolfgang & Eleanor Chaganis as Bracken were excellent baddies and played a great duo. Of course, no pantomime would be complete without audience participation and this was no exception with lots of boo-ing, cheering, “he’s behind yous” and innuendos throughout. Riverside Hub 🛝 ⭐️⭐️⭐️ 3 stars from us!⁣ ⁣ We visited Riverside Hub for the first time on Friday and although the concept is great and we could see the appeal, we left feeling more stressed out than before we visited. 😅⁣ ⁣ We chose one of the last sessions of the day thinking it may be a bit quieter, but it was chaos 🤪. Although it wasn’t sold out when we booked it last minute, it definitely felt like it was running at more than maximum capacity. 🫣 ⁣ ⁣ The sessions are 2.5 hours long and there is lots to do including a giant soft play, sensory rooms, under 5s area (love the fact that a staff member was ‘manning’ this area to stop older kids getting in), role play village, space golf, go-karts, laser tag, climbing wall, and carousel.⁣ ⁣ I loved that everything is included in the price, but £7.50 per accompanying adult I thought was a bit steep. But I’d be more happy to pay it if the session lengths were longer, and the capacity of the centre was reduced.⁣ ⁣ Admission costs:⁣ Child (4-17 years): £15⁣ Child (1-3 years): £12⁣ Baby (under 1): £6⁣ Adults: £7.50⁣ Car Parking £2⁣ (plus booking fee)⁣ ⁣ Would I recommend? If you live fairly locally, can visit during the week in term time and take advantage of the 20% off when visiting before 2pm, or 40% off after 2pm Monday to Thursday in term time, then definitely. Blists Hill Victorian Town We spent a lovely day on Saturday at Blists Hill, part of the @ironbridgegmt We’ve been to similar places but this one is a little bit special. Firstly, the town is huge. There’s so much to walk around and see. Lots of different 𝗩𝗶𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗻 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝗽𝘀, 𝗰𝗼𝘁𝘁𝗮𝗴𝗲𝘀, 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝗱𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 their craft and a pub! The staff are all in character and it makes for great fun! We had 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗳𝗶𝘀𝗵 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗽𝘀, which was lovely. We didn’t get chance to go to the school for a lesson or do the clay mine, but we’ll do them next time. It’s worth noting aswell that Blists Hill Victorian Town is 𝗱𝗼𝗴 𝗳𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗹𝘆. Apart from a few good places, dogs can go everywhere as long as kept on a lead. We loved the 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗳𝘂𝗻𝗳𝗮𝗶𝗿, seeing the shire horse and completing the Easter trail that is currently on. Not only that but as you head towards the bottom of the town, there is the Madeley Wood Co. 𝗮𝗱𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝘆𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱 by @we_are_capco This was a big hit with our boys! It’s worth noting the Iron Bridge is a 6 min drive away, so we headed there after to see it before we headed home. Have you been to Blists Hill before? 🔍 Thinktank Birmingham Science Museum We had a really lovely time at @thinktankmuseum yesterday. We spent 3 hours at the museum in total, but could have stayed longer if we ate there, watched the Our World From Space Family Show, and spent time in the outdoor science garden (the weather was pants, so we gave it a miss this time). Elijah loved all of the interactive elements of the museum, and would have stayed in the “MiniBrum” children’s role play area all day if we would have let him! We travelled to Birmingham via train, and made use of the 2-for-1 entry when travelling by train (must be booked in advance via www.daysoutguide.co.uk). 🦖 Dino Farm Adventure 🦖 ⁣ ⁣ PR Invite | We had a lovely few hours at @manor_farm_fruits Dino Farm Adventure yesterday. ⁣ ⁣ First, we headed to the activity tent where Elijah met some of the baby dinosaurs and took part in some Dino-themed activities. We were then called to take part in the Dino Ranger Training, where Elijah learned the ropes of handling prehistoric creatures and became a certified dino wrangler! Here he met the velociraptor and her baby and collected his Dino Diploma. 👨‍🎓 ⁣ ⁣ It was then time to navigate the Golden Egg Dino Trail and solve the dino clues to claim a chocolatey reward. The trail took us approx 30 minutes to complete. 🪺 After the trail, your children can go back and enjoy the undercover Dino activities, and there’s also two bouncy castles and a small play area for kids to enjoy! 🏃⁣ ⁣ The Dino Farm Adventure runs on selected dates until Sunday 7th April 2024. 🦕 ⁣ ⁣ We did, however, think the admission is a bit on the pricer side (especially for adults) and may put families off, which is a shame. 😞⁣ ⁣ 📍 Manor Farm Fruits Watling Street Hints Tamworth B78 3DF.⁣ Note: The Golden Egg Dino Trail is not pushchair friendly. ❔ Is your little one a dinosaur fan? 🦕 🦖
