The young boy was with his older brother when he was shot last Friday evening in the street by the intersection of Florida Avenue SW and M.L.K. Jr Drive SW. Atlanta Police said they found him on the ground, shot in the arm and stomach. He’s been in the hospital since. “Watching him hurting, it makes me cry just about all day, every day,” Davis’ mom said. She spoke with 11Alive outside the hospital five days after the shooting. We aren’t naming her for their family’s safety. While her son struggles through his pain, the 12-year-old is resilient and trying to get better. “He can’t feel his legs and stuff. He can’t feel nothing but his upper body, and they said when you get hit like that where the bullet is in his back, he’s paralyzed,” his mom said. Her youngest son was stripped of his youth in seconds when bullets flew. Moments after it happened, his older brother called their mom for help. “He turned around and said he got shot. It was like a, ‘Hurry up, momma, he got shot,’” she said. Video captured right after the shooting shows police responding and people surrounding the child, trying to get him help. “When he first got shot, he was like, ‘Momma! I’m okay, momma. I’m okay!’ So he really thought he was okay, not knowing that he was in critical condition,” she said. As she stays by his side in the hospital, she prays he’ll walk again, and he won’t be permanently paralyzed. “I’m faithful that he will walk,” she said. The complaint alleged that the full amount was never paid after the installation was completed. The complaint further alleges that Kingston uses his fame to scam businesses out of services and products without paying fully. On Sunday, Army Criminal Investigation Division agents notified the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) of the Clarksville Police Department of an investigation into the death of a Fort Campbell soldier. Officials have confirmed the identity of the soldier to be Soldier, Pfc. Katia Duenas-Aguilar, 23 of Mesquite Texas. Duenas-Aguilar was a member of the division’s Combat Aviation Brigade. The Clarksville Police Department responded to a call on Saturday, May 18 at approximately 8:33 pm to a residence located at the 900 block of Tiny Town Road. Officers located the body of Duenas-Aguilar. Following the initial investigation, Duenas-Aguilar’s death has been ruled a homicide. Pfc. Duenas-Aguilar began her military career in 218 as an Information Technology Specialist in 2018. She has been stationed at Fort Campbell since 2019. The female student who was shot and killed on Kennesaw State University’s campus on Saturday has been identified as 21-year-old Alasia Franklin, according to family. School officials also confirmed the name and the family provided pictures — one of which showed her on KSU’s Homecoming Court. Her father, Bobby Franklin, said that she was a rising junior pursuing a career to become a nurse practitioner. According to the university, Alasia was shot and killed following a dispute, which occurred in front of the Austin Residence Complex on the Kennesaw Campus on Saturday afternoon. Around 4 p.m. on Saturday, KSU Police issued a secure-in-place alert to the campus informing people of a report of an armed intruder. By 4:43 p.m., the university’s emergency management said the suspect, Samuel Harris, was no longer a threat to the campus. Harris was located off-campus and detained by Cobb County Police. Harris is not a KSU student and has since been charged with murder, aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime. On May 15, 2024, shortly after midnight, LakelandPD officers were called to a vehicle burglary at the Kentucky Fried Chicken on East Memorial Boulevard. The victim told officers she put her food in her truck then briefly went back to the business. When she returned to her vehicle, she found a stranger sitting in the driver’s seat with “a mouth full of chicken.” The victim asked the stranger to get out, but he refused and locked the door. Officers arrived to find Robert Turner still sitting in the driver’s seat of the victim’s truck. Turner told officers it was his truck, and he was just sitting there eating his food. The footage shows Prophet forcefully grabbing the student’s arm and proceeding to hold him down, placing him in a chokehold. The 33-year-old principal is also seen striking the boy with a charging cable, causing him to fall over. Four flight attendants smuggled “millions of dollars of drug money” out of New York City to the Dominican Republic, federal authorities say. They are accused of smuggling about $8 million in total in “bulk cash” to the Dominican Republic, prosecutors said. A federal judge sentenced a Massachusetts attorney to 10 years in prison for paying a hitman to murder his ex-wife. Allen Gessen, 49, was convicted of murder for hire after evidence revealed he tried to hire an undercover FBI agent he believed was a contract killer to murder his former partner and the mother of his two kids, Priscilla Chigariro. He and Chigariro were embroiled in a long-standing dispute that would lead to contentious child custody proceedings, federal prosecutors stated. Gessen’s murder plot began to take shape in the summer of 2022 when he started meeting with the undercover agent and sharing details of his crumbling, co-parenting relationship. He thought the agent was a hitman with extensive government connections, which he desired to use to dispense with Chigariro and get full custody of his kids. Gessen originally plotted to have Chigariro illegally deported from the U.S. and wanted to pay the agent $100,000 to set up the deportation. Then, he realized murder was a “cheaper way to get rid of her” and was a more permanent solution. He admitted to the agent that he made one previous attempt to hire someone to kill Chigariro. Prosecutors said he paid for a hit team from a foreign country to travel to Massachusetts, conduct reconnaissance, and surveil her. When the team told him it would cost another $210,000 to commit the murder, Gessen called it off. A federal grand jury indicted Gessen in July 2022. At the time, he was a licensed attorney in New York. Chigariro said she was shocked when FBI agents arrived at her home after Gessen was charged. #explore #diamondstonetv
Surveillance video shows a Red Mazda pulling up to a group of young girls on April 10th, 2024 at around 10:30 am. Inside was 32-year old #KadeonaCollins and 49-year old #JamesCrump. They began to coerce two of them to get into the vehicle with them. When the group of girls went into the gas station, investigators says Kadeona went in right behind them! She is seen chatting with them for several minutes, bought them some food, and they all walked out together. After a brief discussion, the two girls got into the car and drove away. The two girls were 15-years old. They were told they were going to Chicago. The girls told the police the police that James “pulled out a black handg*n [and] pointed it at their head.” He told them they were going to be forced to perform s*x acts. When they arrived in Chicago, they say they were turned into pr*stitutes and James and Kadeona took all of the money. According to investigators, the girls were taken back to Milwaukee and dropped off. The two told the girls they’d be back for them in a few days. According to the criminal complaint, the girls went to one of the victims’ aunt and explained to them what happened and they told them what James’ phone number was. The aunt pretended to be one of the girls and sent a text message to plan a meet-up. Instead, they recorded James and Kadeona’s plates and went to the police. #DHLExpress has agreed to pay $8.7 million to settle a lawsuit alleging the company segregated employees, assigning its harder tasks to its Black workers. According to the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, when white drivers didn’t want to take on routes in neighborhoods with higher crime rates, the assignments were handed off to Black employees who often witnessed crimes and sometimes became victims. The lawsuit also alleged that Black workers were tasked with moving large, heavy packages while their white peers sorted letters. In a statement, the EEOC said segregating workers and giving them unequal assignments based on race is illegal, similar to denying them promotions or paying them less. DHL spokesman Robert Mintz said the company takes discrimination allegations seriously but denies any wrongdoing in the EEOC lawsuit. The Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation has launched a probe into the recent death of Frank Tyson, a 53-year-old Black man who died after police pinned him to the ground inside a bar. Bodycam video shows Tyson repeatedly said, “I can’t breathe,” but officers ignored his pleas as he lost consciousness. The bodycam video shows police waited five minutes to check for his pulse and then another three minutes before CPR was started. One officer is heard joking, “I’ve always wanted to be in a bar fight.
