I had a lack of concentration on a long drive! Betty Bear, our Club Mascot, really enjoyed seeing this Singer at @brooklandsmuseum. It was raced in the 1934 Light Car Club Relay as part of a three Singer team, where all the cars were driven by women. They were coloured red white and blue and must have been an impressive sight as they whizzed round the track! This one was raced by Eileen Ellison, the blue had Kay Petre behind the wheel, and Mrs Tolhurst competed in the red. They placed 5th overall and won the fastest Women's team.
Hugely enjoying my time with the MMOC Club Van and I've also been trying to learn a bit of it's history! It's a fascinating story so far and I'm excited to share what I find!
Looking across decades of history - to my left in this picture is the finishing straight and to my right the infamous embanking that caused many to lose their lives in pursuit of speed, and never reach that finishing straight. As we were walked around with a tour guide during the @womendriverssocialclub meet, it was insane the amount was of points where someone had had a fatal crash. And that was just on the small section of track in the museum grounds!
How I pack the 200D for the Roadtrip through Scandinavia! I had to experience it for myself: When traveling during winter time, you really need more space for your stuff. All the jackets and blankets are super voluminous ๐ In the end I found a way which suits me really well, because everything was easily accessible without making a total mess when needing a thing! I personally cannot confirm or argue with that - Do you know more? The headrest are currently missing because the seat covers are brand new. Car clubs and getting involved with committees has lots of unexpected and surprising benefits, and for me this weekend, some of it's involved getting behind this beauty and trying my first Morris Minor Van for size. Anyone who's spoke to me since my first trip yesterday will attest to the huge grin on my face and how many compliments I've got for this van! It's staying with me for a little while to do a few jobs and help us out of a transport pickle and I'm so thankful to the brilliant Morris Minor Owners Club for handing me the keys!

Because her boyfriend at that time did not not share the enthusiasm for those cars She got the car from HIS grandfather as he got too old to drive it. Sunday visitation to Peggy today!
