Tonight was @cigarclubldn monthly zoom with special guest @nickp6.066 from @tridentmilitarycigars. I didn’t have the new @tridentmilitarycigars panatela cigar to smoke as I had one when I got my @cigarclubldn order and then I gifted one to @thecigarenthusiasts to try. However I can tell you that the new panatela from trident is a great punch little smoke and perfect if you only have 30 minutes for a smoke. They come in tins of 5 so perfect for a on the go smoke. However tonight’s smoke was a personal favourite of mine the @alecbradleycigar Black Market. If you’re not a member of @cigarclubldn then I highly recommend you join, there’s great monthly smokes for £20 or less and there’s some special ones in there as last months cigar was a vintage at 70 years old which smoked amazing. Today’s smoke of choice was a @caocigars Amazon Basin paired with a @birramorettiuk Met up with @thecigarenthusiasts for a chat over a pint and a cigar. We popped in the Bear shop first @havanahouseuk to acquire the goods then went for a pint. This cigar had some great age on it which I was not expecting. This afternoons smoke was a @paulstulaccigars Fantasma paired with a @monsterenergy Aussie lemonade. This was a lovely smoke with notes of earth, cedar, chocolate with slight floral hints that kicked into a spicy nuttiness in the final third. Which paired well with the @monsterenergy Aussie lemonade. This cigar had some age on it however the picture doesn’t do justice on how discoloured the cellophane was. This cigar had great draw, burn and construction so happy I got my hands on this and will definitely look to get more in the future. To end off the evening then I had a bowl of @charatanlondon No 10 mixture that was left over from when @cigarclubldn done the pipe month. What a great bowl this was paired well with cranberry juice and water. This afternoons smoke of choice was @havanahouseuk mays monthly cigar the @highclerecastlecigar picked up from the bear shop in Cardiff by my partners Nan. I paired the @highclerecastlecigar with a @madriexcepcional and @fanta Lemon. This was a lovely spicy, earthy, woody cigar with lovely nuttiness on the final 3rd. It’s so nice to be able to enjoy a cigar outdoors again at least for the time being, plus my cars not having a kicking with smoke, ash and wrappers😂. Todays smoke of choice was the @gurkhacigars dragonfly paired with a @bluemoonbrewco and a wonderful BBQ prepared by my amazing partner @ayeishablack22 The @gurkhacigars dragonfly was a great smoke with notes of wood, nuts, earth and floral which paired lovely with the citrus of the @bluemoonbrewco However this did have some construction issues it cracked when I cut it and unravelled when I lit it. Not sure if it was due to the weather we’ve had lately in the UK or whether it was a one off but it made the cigar un smoke able towards the 2nd 3rd which was a shame. Today’s afternoon smoke was a José Bartolo from Egypt paired with a @glenmorangie. Today’s smoke was a gift from the mother in law from a recent trip to Egypt. This was a wonderfully sweet, earthy and nutty smoke which paired with the sweetness of the @glenmorangie paired incredibly. Yesterday I had a chance to break in my new stanwell pipe with some Capstan Blue. Last nights smoke was a @gurkhacigars ghost shadow paired with a @leffe.belgium blonde. This was such a lovely smoke with notes coffee, earth, and leather with some creamy sweetness with a little spice but nothing over powering. The draw, burn and construction was great had loads of smoke out put and very little issue. This is only the second @gurkhacigars I’ve had the first being the marquesa. I need to pick up some other ones to try as I’ve yet to have a bad one. Today’s smoke was a @cavalier_cigars white series toro which I paired with the new @cocacolagbi lemon and a @havanaclubuk tropical mojito. This was a lovely creamy, woody and nutty smoke with a fruit note on the final 3rd and when paired with the coke lemon and havana club mojito made the fruit come through a bit more. Unfortunately did have some issues with this cigar it canoed and the burn was uneven, the draw was a little tight but I pushed through and it did not affect the flavour of the smoke but it was a shame that this happened. However I would have this cigar again. Tonight’s smoke was a @hiramandsolomoncigars travelling man paired with a @1770whisky the original. This was a great smoke I’m glad I gave it another chance. I first had this cigar last year and I never liked it, it was harsh, bitter and not enjoyable. I am glad I gave it another chance though as I really enjoyed it. Lovely notes of chocolate, wood, nuts and spice which paired well with the fruity and woody notes of the scotch. This was a lovely pairing and one I’d like to have again. Last nights smoke while on the @cigarclubldn monthly zoom call was the @tatuajecigars black label private reserve. Paired with a @7up cherry. Unfortunately this cigar had some issues the cap started to peel after v cutting, just below the label was torn and eventually the wrapper come undone. Which was a shame as the first time I had this smoke I had no issues at all. Anyway the monthly zoom was great as always and loving having a catch up with the group. Just remember if you’re a @cigarclubldn member the zoom is always the last Sunday of the month and starts at 6 and ends either around 10 or later depending if a few stay on. Last nights smoke was the @cigarclubldn February monthly smoke which was the @tatuajecigars Black Label Private Reserve Toro paired with @bluemoonbeeruk. This was a great spicy smoke with a lovely sweetness and notes of cinnamon, wood, nuts, coffee and chocolate. The burn, draw and construction of the cigar was great definitely a fan of this one and looking forward to trying it again. This @tatuajecigars paired with @bluemoonbeeruk was great the citrus of the beer complimented the spiciness of the smoke. This had a little age on it and a nice yellow packaging. This was a great pairing with the citrus notes from the @bluemoonbeeruk balancing with the spice of the cigar. Todays afternoon smoke was a @plasenciacigars Alma Fuerte Sixto I this was a paired with a @monsterenergy watermelon. This was a lovely smooth chocolaty, earthy and leather smoke with slight pepper in the final third but nothing overwhelming. The draw, burn and construction was also on point, had to touch it up a few times but that was due to windy conditions and dodgy lighting. However it smoked continuously even when it was put down and not touched for several minutes.
