We had an absolutely delightful time at @cltpride last weekend. From walking in the parade to doing HUNDREDS of rounds of #AbortionTrivia, it was a weekend full of joy, smiles, and love. We love our Charlotte community, our LGBTQIA+ siblings, and the precious Trans and Queer kids we got to meet and interact with. We firmly believe that full legal protection of all gender identities and the acknowledgment of bodily autonomy for all without exception is only the first step towards the future we want to see. It's done. Enough that from here on it's just fine-tuning. The wig was the last piece and now she's braided and sprayed into place. One day past my deadline but I spent yesterday marching in the #charlotteprideparade so I had a valid excuse. I put the whole outfit on for the first time, sans wig, and wandered around in it for about twenty minutes to get the feel of it. All together, the costume is quite heavy and the shoes are definitely more slippers than shoes. Still, it all works together.
