I kayaked to a 136 ft tall waterfall, closed my eyes, and let the wind and spray push me away. Then paddled right back for it to happen again. This one deserves a permanent spot on the feed. The Instagram algorithm led me to @kayakingadventuresoftennessee about a year ago, and I’ve been dreaming of a kayak ride to Burgess Falls ever since. We packed up for a two day anniversary trip mid week, stayed in the most adorable VRBO in Sparta Tennessee on the Calf Killer River and enjoyed a day of slow, relaxing paddling with a small group. Highly recommend contacting Tara and Eddie and making a kayaking reservation. What an incredible day on the water!! 🙌 We got a few light showers along the way but before we left the waterfall the sun ☀️ peaked out and stayed out for the rest of the trip! What a day we had with our KAT Trash Challenge!! This ladies were amazing 🤩 They grabbed so much trash from the water and helped each other find trash for their bags all day! 💪 They even found part of a kiddy pool 😂 That flooding sure does bring down a lot of stuff! So thankful for groups like today who spend their kayak time keeping our lake/Burgess Falls clean! 🙌 Our winner today was Tori! 🏆 She had some stiff competition today but she was determined to pull off the win and she did! 🎉 She happily searched for trash everywhere and took any trash offered as well 🚮 Fantastic job today Tori! What an inspiring and incredible day we had today! 🤩 We donated a trip to the Middle Tennessee Young Breast Cancer Alliance and we met some amazing and very strong women today. Cancer touches so many lives and we really wanted to give back to this community of strong, brave women. 💪 Thanks to Jenn for bringing your amazing group of ladies and all of you for a beautiful day on the water!
