FOLLOW LOVE We are all part of the body of Christ and each part has a special work to do. It can be frustrating when we don't feel like we know what special work God intends for us to do. But don't worry if you feel lost or confused! Everything created was rooted and grounded in love. Your anchor is and will always be love. If you're still on the journey of clarifying your calling, you will already be living it out by aiming to show love and kindness to anyone you come into contact with each day. Get creative with what vehicles you can use to deliver love and kindness. Is it sending a simple text to anyone God brings to mind that day, letting them know they're valued? Maybe it's surprising some coworkers with flowers just because. Maybe being extra present with your child…Whatever avenue comes to mind, you will ALWAYS be on the path of your calling when you strive to make the world a better place each day because you lived. Growing up, I never thought that teaching would end up being my calling. I wanted to be a marine biologist because I was obsessed with sea life and dolphins...which is why I became a scuba diver! I wanted to be an archeologist because I was fascinated by the mystery around history. I wanted to be a journalist because I wanted to uncover and report the truth, which I did for a few years until I realized that the truth was often governed by ad dollars and political b.s. So I ended up in marketing and communications...well I’m not really sure how I ended up in that field, but it was the natural progression of my career and I was very good at it. And for the longest time I thought what I was good at was what I was meant to do even though I had very little passion for it. Fast forward a couple of years, I let go of all the fears that were holding me back and shed that career that wasn’t serving me and became a teacher. I now teach yoga, mindfulness, self-love, emotional awareness, conscious listening, and I empower souls to shed what doesn’t serve them, to show up as their authentic selves and bring their purpose to life. I hold space for people for a living and I thank my lucky stars every single day that I get to do what I do. At the end of a keynote presentation I was giving at a school last week with the @youthwellnessnetwork about believing in yourself and being kind, a little girl about 7 years old approached me, and hugged and thanked me for a story I shared about kindness. She told me it inspired her to be kinder and nicer to people. My eyes welled up knowing that I’ve made a difference in that little girl’s life and countless others through my coaching and teachings. So if you ever think that your dreams are too far fetched, if you’ve ever been told that they’re pipe dreams and to be realistic (which I’ve heard oh so many times), and if you’ve ever been faced with fears and insecurities over following your bliss, go ahead and release these blocks and limitations and use the energy to further fuel what it is you’re meant to be gifting the world, what you’re destined to create. In an upcoming episode of the Discover What's Possible podcast, I had the pleasure of meeting with Adam & Erin Erickson of @vamptco. In this episode, we discuss that it's not always that your full time job is a full on nightmare. It could be that you simply feel the pull or the call to do something more that piques your interest into entrepreneurship. However, I encourage you to be aware if you are just saying your job is "fine" or "good enough" because that is a sign of settling while something more is out there for you. Some of my jobs weren't so bad at times, but I always felt like I was being held back in some way, and after many years of job hopping, I ultimately decided to try my hand at launching my own business. And that "not always so bad" scenario might be the case for you as well, but that doesn't make it any less valid for you to want to explore other options, or any more fulfilling for you to want to stay in a situation that's "good enough."
